Democrats are racing to release information about former President Donald Trump's taxes before Republicans take control of Congress early next year.
Politico reported Friday that the House Ways and Means Committee will meet privately Tuesday at 3 p.m. to review the tax documents and vote on whether all or a portion of Trump's tax returns will be publicly released.
After a lengthy legal battle, House Ways and Means Committee Chair Richard Neal got his hands on Trump's tax returns in November....
...They consist of Trump's personal returns and returns from eight business entities, Politico said.
Democrats believe they're on solid legal footing to release the returns if the committee takes a vote....

ALOT of that LOSS CARRY FORWARD was triggered by allowing Indian Casinos all over the country.
KILLED Atlantic City.
ERIC HOLDER also.
MAXINE WATERS & HUBBY are ripe targets, IMO.
I am life long (65 years) accounting/bookkeeping person.
This is a step NO ONE in their right mind wants to follow.
Career democrats probably look like saints on paper. They’ve had years to get them “in order”.
I believe there is a tax disclosure law that covers the disclosure of tax returns and. Return info that one has legally acquired. IMO this would be a criminal offense but of course the just us DOJ in Dc would have to prosecute.
I want to see all these pukes tax returns on line for all to see
My uninformed guess isn't so much that the dems are or are not able to release his tax returns publicly (funny thing about legislators, they rarely write laws that limit their own powers), but what they're debating is legal cover to get the returns out to the public in a plausibly legitimate way (not actually legitimate, they just want a fig leaf of an enumerated power of the constitution so it won't look explicitly like they lied to the supreme court, which is exactly what they did.) I'll bet that three months from now it will be wall to wall coverage of the minutiae of the tax returns, doxxing and shaming of any accountant or lawyer who participated in the preparation of the returns, and breathless declarations that this is the crime of the century. All the while, the congressional hearings about actual government suppression of speech via big tech will go uncovered in the nightly news.
Maybe you should share yours for the curious.
Mine are boring. Nobody would be the least bit interested.
I am sure his tax people followed the law. They know that he would be audited if the Communist Party branch called the IRS got orders from on high to audit him out in the open. Another tactic to keep him out of 2024 election.
Exactly why the Tax code should be so simple, even the idiots on the dole can understand it.
WAIT!! They were given the tax returns for the purposes of verifying their jobs to oversee and to see if they need to write laws for certain situations.
Which of those above says, “Release to the public”?!?
This should be ILLEGAL to even think about releasing private tax return information; it is for anyone else OTHER THAN CONgress!! Releasing his returns or any data about the returns does not help them “write laws” or “perform checks and balances”!!
I hope Trump files a lawsuit if a single line of his tax returns are released!!!
The judiciary should be subject to the same audits and public disclosure.
Yes, I remember that, too. The Dem clowns in the House committee won't be able to make heads or tails of his tax returns.
BTW, how many years of tax returns did they get? Recent ones or ones from before he became President?
The obsession continues.
