Twitter appeared to suspend the accounts of at least half a dozen journalists late Thursday — including some who had been critical of Elon Musk and his $44 billion dollar takeover of the social media platform.
A number of accounts suspended belonged to journalists who had recently covered the dispute between Musk, 51, and a Twitter account operated by a Florida college freshman that monitors the tech mogul’s private jet flights.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the accounts were taken down. Twitter didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
New York Times reporter Ryan Mac, CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan and Drew Harwell of The Washington Post were among those who appeared to have been blocked.
Matt Binder from Mashable, The Intercept’s Micah Lee and independent journalists Aaron Rupar, Keith Olbermann and Tony Webster also appeared to have their accounts blocked.
The apparent bans come a day after Musk vowed to suspend any account that posted real-time information on a person’s whereabouts amid his feud with 19-year-old Jack Sweeney.
The Florida teen, who runs the ElonJet Twitter handle that tracks Musk’s flights using publicly available data, had his account suspended Tuesday.
“Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation,” Musk tweeted.

Slapping my knee laughing out loud.
Learn to code kids....
Turnaround is fair play even when it is not. Learn to love your snot nosed playground, back holes and front holes... hell, all holes for posterity.
It’s not due to the criticism, but doxing his exact locations.
I suspect that the remaining ‘journalists’ will start to behave better on Twitter.
Nope:

It’s about revealing private location information that could constitute a “hit list”.

Kind of a set-up I guess.
Nonsense.
You threaten my child and I’ll be in your stuff worse than this.
Let the #ComDem weenies cry in their kitty milk.
They put Elon’s son at risk.
He had ever right to kick the crap out of them.
He had every right as a father to deal with these freaks.
Yes, his critics should stay.
But they can’t DOXX him and create a life-endangering situation for his children.
See the difference?
Exactly.
It’s a PRIVATE COMPANY.
If libs don’t like it, they should start their own. They’re free to do so.
This is great. Want to see all these folks get suspended and whine.
Publicly available flight info is not doxxing, not by any stretch. And congrats to Elon for finally acting like a father.
I think you have a point with the plane as that’s on a website anyone could access.
It’s just adding one more step for a stalker to go to a separate website but... maybe John Lennon would still be alive had he not been so easy to find?
For sure having your car ID’d or tracked live = doxxing.
But maybe he just suspended them to show them he had the power to do so? I don’t recall these ‘journalists’ complaining as conservatives - politicians or journalists - or anyone else was banned.
MSM said ‘shadow banning’ wasn’t happening and was a conspiracy theory.
Maybe now they’ll recognize the error in their ways?
A Democrat that’s just been robbed is a Republican. Perhaps a censoring communist that’s just been shut out of his account will become an advocate for true free speech?
Agree
The reporters were sharing the link
The site has doxing rules. He is enforcing the rules. 7 days should be permanent. make em buy one of his new phones.
Absolutely correct. In 1932 Charles Lindbergh’s baby was kidnapped. Musk is doing what he needs to protect his family. Doxing is very dangerous.
Incorrect. The others were not only reporting on it, but linking to the doxing source.
Banned “journalists” trying to get him killed.
“ The decision comes after Elon Musk declared war on sharing location information on the platform following a stalking incident with his son X.
“Last night, car carrying lil X in LA was followed by crazy stalker (thinking it was me), who later blocked car from moving & climbed onto hood,” Musk wrote.
“Legal action is being taken against Sweeney & organizations who supported harm to my family,” he continued.”
