Arizona Senator Seeks to 'Nullify the Results' of Maricopa County Election with New Lawsuit
The Western Journal ^ | December 14, 2022 | Michael Austin

On Election Day, Maricopa County, Arizona, found itself at the center of the national conversation thanks to a number of malfunctioning election machines, incredibly long lines and other issues.

The county is the most populous by far in a state where Democrat Katie Hobbs won the gubernatorial challenge by a mere 0.6 percent (roughly 17,000 votes) over her Republican opponent, former local news anchor-turned-conservative firebrand Kari Lake.

Because of this, Arizona State Senator Sonny Borrelli filed a lawsuit on Monday. The suit alleges that voters in the more rural Mohave County were disenfranchised by the malfeasance of Maricopa County election officials. As a result, Borrelli is calling for officials to “nullify the results.”

The suit names numerous Maricopa County election officials and even Katie Hobbs herself; as secretary of state, Hobbs was responsible for overseeing her own election.

Pointing to “multiple systemic failures,” including reliance on unreliable software, Borelli argues that the county’s actions on Election Day violated Arizona statutory law.

Specifically, the software in question is an artificial intelligence program used by the county for the purposes of signature verification.

Call me “silly” then as I had the same thought when I first heard of the switch.

You’ve got it! While Sinema has an independent streak, she’s still a liberal.

Get back to us when something actually happens. Lots of allegations....show us the hard evidence. Everybody claims they have it but why isn’t it put out there for all to see it...??

ARIZONA revized statutes specifically prevent a person in authority from being able to run events thwt affect their position.

Therefore-—Katie Hobbs should have NEVER been in charge of an election in which she was a candidate.

COMPLETE CONFLICT OF INTEREST

These are civil suits. Although they might be nice, if a law is violated where in the hell are the criminal complaints!

Equal Protection.

I argued that in a prior thread where I got into a discussion with Hildy.

It-is-about-EQUAL PROTECTION!

Nothing is for certain except that nothing will happen if no one makes an effort. Beats crying in our beers.

Guess we'll see if it goes to trial, won't we?

Yes, I remember that. The thing is, the other counties could have sat on their certifications out of principle till the cows came home and it would not make an iota of difference because no one was alleging fraud or even incompetence in most of the counties. All of the certifications had to be turned in before lawsuits like this from Lake and other counties could begin.

If you're waiting for CNN and Fox to show you the hard evidence, you're never going to see it.

Might I suggest you track down the law suit. It's on line somewhere.

NO, you can NOT certify something that is unlawful.

No matter IF your county acted lawfully, one county did not and VIOLATED ALL the other counties.

The county prosecution should have filed legal civil/criminal action..then certify the vote.

It could have been done in one or two days.

Does one certify a criminal after he has violated law and therefore allow that criminal to go free because he was certified?

Remember this line..

“Does one certify a criminal after he has violated law and therefore allow that criminal to go free Does one certify a criminal after he has violated law and therefore allow that criminal to go free because he was certified?”

Especially this part..

“because he was certified?”

There is where this is going. They will say it was certified and so that is that!

Does one certify a criminal after he has violated law"

That's not a really good analogy since we are not talking about other kinds of crime where no certification is involved (are they certifying murderers and rapists now?). We are talking about election law. And part of election law in most states is that legal challenges cannot proceed until the formality of certifying the election has been completed.

No standing..or no merit.

That is where it will end.

And you will have let another criminal election go by.

Exactly, she was likely to be primaried from the left by Ruben Gallego and she obviously thought she would lose.

AZ is not Utah, there will be a democrat nominee for the seat but if Gallego or anyone else viable runs that *should* guarantee a GOP win in 3-way race. Sinema is playing a game of chicken hoping to scare Gallego away.

If you think about it’s shocking to see such brazen disloyalty from a member of the rat party but she is a dangerous creature after all.

Now to the merits of the case, and the political inclinations of the judge(s).
