What is/would/ be the difference between my current use of my main credit card or my wife's?

~~~
Fair question!
...nothing
HOWEVER...
ALL of those transactions are cataloged, recorded and saved forever.
On the face it, not a problem, so long as the card use knows that all of the transactions are tracked, cataloged, monitored ad available for whatever purpose various institutions desire. If you're OK with this, still not a problem.
BUT, let's look at another “we gather your information” scenario that nearly everyone is participating in, namely cell phone meta data.
Currently, cell phones continuously ping cell towers, even if their GPS is off. Even with the GPS off, your triangulation data as your phone pings the towers is accurate to within nearly 25 feet. So FAR, still not a problem and most/many don't concern themselves with this. But the meta data collected lets their algorithms paint a picture that many may not like. It is known where you go, how ofter, what frequency/schedule/dates/times how much time your spend there, who else is there (after all, their phones are giving the same meta data). It is known when you get a haircut, whne you grocery shop, when you're at the bar ad for how long, who you sicialize with, etc, ad nauseum. Our while lives are known just becaues of the phone we carry. Using the credit card only adds to the meta data. Remember the J6 meta data? They found everyone quickly.
SO, putting it together, while currently the use of a credit card isn't a real problem to most/many, things could change quickly.
With a CBDC EVERY transaction is now included along WITH your phone meta data. While you may be OK with all this, what happens when “people like you” (WHATEVER that may mean) are “deemed” to be outlaws, insurrestionsists, domestic terrorists _fill in the blank_?
The CBDC is an escalation of invasion into tracking every minuscule aspect of our lives, on top of cell phone meta data (oh, LOOK THERE! Dave attends a church regularly and that pastor spoke out against the government AND Dave bought a gun and he bought freeze dried food and he bought ammo and he bought seeds, soil, fertilizer and he...
So, while we already give WAY too much data to the evil machine, CDBC is another dramatic escalation of the privacy we lose. One day, all this data WILL BE used against ordinary citizens and it will be ugly.
“OF course I don't mind if you search my car, my house, my person...after all, “I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE” many will say.
But they won't be asking, or telling you, they'll know it all already.
This is a further encroachment on our right to be secure in our possessions and papers, but yet, most go willingly.
“Gotta have that app...even though it's real profit is selling your meta data.
“GOTTA have alexa, gulag voice, apple watch, even though they are each listening all the time to what is said around them.
“Gotta have my cell phone all the time” even though everyone participating is being tracked in real time, along with NUMEROUS apps...not to mention the nefarious way a cell phone can be hacked to listen to ambient conversations and even record video when the phone is not in a call and even while the phone is OFF, while the user is unaware,
So, while many are willing to trade a little convenience, a little bit of privacy, a little bit of security because they “have nothing to hide”. this only because they are not on the tyrant's list of evil people. But that list is subject to change at any instant, WITH ANY CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT TYRANTS and MR./Mrs. normal are INSTANLY enemies of the state to be dealt with as desired.
Bottom line, it is a clear infringement of privacy.
TODAY, maybe not a problem.
Digital data is forever.
It never goes away.
TOMORROW?
You may find your front door smashed in with a no knock raid because you are deemed an enemy of the state.
Each must determine their own level of privacy for themselves. One may choose for the sake of privacy to not carry/own a cell phone, but there will be no enjoying your privacy with CBDC.
Bkmk. That was an epic explanation. I will be using it, if you don’t mind.
Thanks for your reply.
I may use my cell phone 2-3 times a week and usually to respond to a relative or friend.
My wife uses her cell phone to contact relatives/friends literally around the globe on a daily to hourly basis, each day.
She pays no bills with her phone. I pay them electronically through our bank with our other household bills. She and I don’t use facebook and or online gossipy sites.
FR is my main online site for news. Fox.com is next and seldom posts liberal B$.
At 84+, I don’t have a lot of relatives and friends left to contact. My wife at 82 is the oldest survivor in her immediate families.
My top secret clearance lapsed about 60 years ago. In fact on 11/22/2022 marked the distablishment of the Navy Security Group, 10+ years ago.
