Ukraine can stop most of the Iranian drones and Russian cruise missiles with hardware now in Ukraine. ABM systems like the Patriot will be needed to stop incoming ballistic missiles.

The only way to do that is to withdraw Patriot protection somewhere else. The US is talking to Saudi Arabia about moving Patriot batteries from there to Ukraine.

This will be a great opportunity for Russia to get their hands on one.

Why wasn’t this done six months ago?

If the Bidens hadn’t pocketed most of the money that was meant to go to Ukraine this war would be over by now.

Instead Ukraine has been forced to fight with ancient Soviet relics. That they are still winning is a remarkable achievement.

We keep them in Saudi to deter the Iranian missile threat to Saudi. Biden will probably piss off the Saudi’s even more than he already has by moving them out.

I’m guessing that Raytheon and other defense contractors will be making more weapons and money. Interesting, how the changes in influences will be prompting Democrats to spend more on defense. Come budget time, Republicans will be adding some push to that.

Defense is one of the proper and constitutional ways of spending government funds. What we can’t stand, is so much spending on hordes of unnecessary government employees, social programs to clean up after the drug abuse regime and government-connected civilian businesses.

“Ukraine can stop most of the Iranian drones and Russian cruise missiles with hardware now in Ukraine.”

But they are NOT.

How is claiming that ‘We shoot down 70 of 79 incoming Russian missiles and drones and yet 17 hit infrastructure targets - per some unknown Kyiv Official’ indicating that what Ukraine has is working?

Two points on Patriots to Ukraine:

1) Using this system also requires a specialized, trained team of operators; therefore, such a move certainly confirms US boots on the ground.

2) The coming Russian PR memes are going to be utterly hilarious.

Russia has amassed its An-2 fleet in Dubrovka to counter this threat. Patriots cost $1B per battery and $3M per missile. The An-2’s. Which will look like oncoming attack helicopters, cost about $1,500 each. Fill the An-2’ with explosives and fly them remotely, and the Patriot operators have an interesting choice to make.

"Why wasn’t this done six months ago?"

Ukraine first needed to secure the air and ground more against other threats.

Maybe Cuba wants some hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. Washington DC is just in range.

Purely defensive, of course.

Are you a parrot bot, begging that same question from thread to thread? I thought it would be a good idea to nuke Russian nuclear weapons facilities. But our U.S. Defense leaders know more than I do about how to neutralize those facilities, and they'll call the shots without regard for our comments.

I’m interested in YOUR state of mind, and not that of some government entity. So I’ve got this right; you support nuking Russia?

Heads up, peddler....

Patriot was not and is not designed for cruise missile and drones.

Interesting that FR has become infiltrated with FSB/GRU operatives. I wonder how much they are making to act as provocateurs?
