Indictment says Daniel Duggan provided military training to the pilots through a ‘test flying academy’ in South Africa between 2010-12
Australian pilot Daniel Duggan – a former US Marine Corps aviator – has been accused of breaking American arms control laws by training Chinese fighter pilots to land on aircraft carriers, according to an indictment now unsealed by a US court.
The indictment said the naturalised Australian “provided military training to (PRC) People’s Republic of China pilots” through a “test flying academy” in South Africa between 2010 and 2012.
Duggan was arrested by Australian authorities, at the request of the FBI, in regional New South Wales in October, pending a formal extradition request. The US has until 20 December – 60 days from his arrest – to lodge that request, or Duggan will be eligible for release.
Duggan’s arrest coincided with warnings from Australian and British authorities over the practice of former military pilots being offered lucrative contracts to train pilots in China.
Duggan’s lawyer, Dennis Miralis, has previously said the 54-year-old pilot will fight any extradition request, and resolutely maintains his innocence.
“He denies having breached any US law, any Australian law, any international law,” Miralis said. Miralis did not respond to requests from the Guardian for comment on Tuesday.
On Friday, the District of Columbia court on Friday unsealed the 2017 indictment and a US warrant for Duggan.

“The US has until 20 December – 60 days from his arrest – to lodge that request, or Duggan will be eligible for release.”
Dec. 20 is in seven days which means he’s been arrested 53 days.
Why hasn’t the extradition request been made after 8 weeks?
Note also when he was indicted in 2017.
If this guy is a tall black lesbian, we may be able to work out an exchange.
He’s still a US citizen...although it’s far from certain that Australia would extradite him. If we’re ever able to get custodynof him...put him up against the wall!
Of course Australia would extradite him. They arrested him.
What about the Russian agents NATO is training on NATO’s most advanced weaponry in Ukraine?
Ok comrade.
Xiden: Behold, a man after my own heart!
1) Australia just elected a Maoist government 2) he’s also an Australian citizen. I wouldn’t bet a nickel on him being sent here.
Is there an explanation as to exactly what provision he violated by providing the training? I am not familiar with military training being an arms export (not saying that legally it is not; only saying I am unfamiliar with the concept).
“Duggan faces four charges, including conspiracy to defraud the United States by conspiracy to unlawfully export defence services to China, conspiracy to launder money, and two counts of violating the arms export control act and international traffic in arms regulations.”
They never brought charges against the US flight instructors that trained the 9/11 pilots. I don’t even think they revoked their instructors licences. If you didn’t want ex US military people going around the world training people, then you, Congress and the DOD shouldn’t have screwed them over by saving money at the expense of retirement benefits. I know several people who went fro major to lt col in 2 yrs them were col for 2 yrs before separation. Congress changed the law from 2 yrs in grade to 3 years in grade, so they were retired as majors. In the original system there was no time in grade, so people were sometimes bumped right before retirement to increase the benefit. Good veterans getting an extra thank you on the way out the door. Now it’s a so sorry col, you really a major. Obama to the rescue once more.
“They never brought charges against the US flight instructors that trained the 9/11 pilots”
That’s not even remotely analogous.
OK comrade? What, is that all you can get out with you head buried in the sand? Or is it stuck elsewhere? No comment that we are training Russian agents in Ukraine? You deny the Uke military is rife with Russian spies? “OK comrade”, yeah, about what I expected from you.
A former Marine officer training Chinese fighter pilots? Legal or not, he knew it was wrong and most likely treasonous but did it anyway for the $$$. His commission should be reinstated and he should be court-martialed.
Your comment indicates this is no big deal.
Is that what you meant?
What was it supposed to mean in regard to this case involving Chicoms?
Yes, Australians are well aware of threats from China and will do all that they can to help the U.S.A. Australia has also been our best ally.
Trying to hijack a thread about a traitor for China with Russian propaganda. That’s just downright ugly.
Are you really so brain dead as to think the Uke military is not completely infiltrated with Russians? The reverse is true of the Russian military. One American training Chicoms is newsworthy but the US military training Russian spies is not. Damn, you administration stooges have no pride left. The globalists you stooge for have you bent into a pretzel. Disgusting.
Only the government can do this
