Yep, I checked my back, and there's no room left for another knife from The Backstab Party.
Debbie Downer Democrat weighs in.
The only other candidate right now is the ‘rat, and you’re campaigning FOR him!
Mom 88
Dad 94
They live long sorry
After they got Tina Peters out of the way [Colorado], they rigged Mesa County hard against Lauren Boebert - but it wasn't quite enough. :)
The vote riggers gave it their best shot, there.
I don’t think Trump is being the “Trump” who won in 2016. His messaging is too heavy on the stolen election and not enough on positive advancement of the MAGA agenda. There is also too much emphasis on the vaccine as an achievement given that there is a big overlap between the vaccine hesitant and his voter base.
Not saying he can’t win, just that he really needs to find that mojo and a message that resonates with everyone who isn’t anti-American. We need that irrepressible winner personality to shine, not clouded by the reminders that the election was not won in 2020.
Heard that around my buildings pool... people that voted twice for him now don’t want anything to do with him. Time will tell
Sure thing - go away with this pile of crap. Try again.
Give some examples. The GOP track record was not so good before him, but NeverTrump if it makes you feel good.
🐂💩
They must be poling the Lincoln Project, the Log Cabin Republicans and their non-traditional families.
They want change, but not for their representative.
Wait'll they get a load of me and my conservative friends not lining up at the voting booth in 2024 to get stabbed in the back by the latest backstabbing GOPee stooge annointed by M!tch, Chucky's B!tch.
Every voting cycle since 1994 [voted for Perot in 1992], and my back is running out of room for another GOP Establishment knife.
DeSantis is beating both Trump and Biden.
Drew, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I’ve read many of your (and others’) posts concerning Trump vs. DeSantis.
What’s missing on this subject are the details.
1. Governors have more influence/power than a president because they are closer to the people.
2. Governors can protect the people from the federal government.
3. Presidents control international relationships, the border, the economy and federal agencies (to a degree).
4. Governors can refuse federal money and run the state the way they want.
5. Presidents do not write laws and need strong republican Congress members to do that. We don’t have that nor have we for decades.
6. Presidents and Congress should NOT dictate election rules for each state. A very slippery slope if they did.
There is so much focus on who is President as opposed to the Congress. Congress leadership and members have not changed in decades thus we continue to get the same results for decades.
Many argue, who can win the presidency. A valid concern but regardless of who wins, nothing will change because Congress is the same (uniparty).
Can Trump win, probably not. Will DeSantis win, only if the uniparty decides he should. If DeSantis wins, he cannot write laws. Will the uniparty support MAGA policies? No. Will the uniparty write MAGA laws? No. Can Trump or DeSantis drain the swamp? No. Can either shutdown these agencies? No. Can either hire anyone who would? Probably not.
And if DeSantis tried to force MAGA policies, he will get the ‘Trump treatment’.
The entire party needs to be re-built and stand for something. Currently they don’t nor have they for decades. Why would any independent vote Republican if they stand for nothing except ‘oppose democrats’?
As for voters, many were ok with voting for open borders, bad economy and censorship. There is no way Republicans will ever appeal to these people or those who voted for incoherent corrupt Joe or brain dead Fetterman. They only way Republicans can win is by having a clear agenda, which they have no interest in.
So, while we continue to put so much energy (commentary) into the Trump vs. DeSantis debate we ignore the real problem. Personally I prefer DeSantis as a Governor because we need 40 more of him. He is indirectly giving other Republican governors ideas and courage. We need MAGA policies in Congress to fix DC, in other words vote out most of DC Republicans.
And for those miffed about Trump’s personality, don’t forget that he opened the door for others to start ‘holding their ground’ instead of ‘bending the knee’. He inspired courage. Granted, many were appalled but it gave many courage.
Trump is toxic because the uniparty wanted him to be. It is up to us to not take the bait and have a game plan. A big part of that plan is to have excellent conservative governors. Next is to have MAGA federal politicians. Without that, the Presidency has little to no effect except the obvious ‘they aren’t a democrat’. Note: McCain and Romney are democrats who ran as republicans.
Why lose a GREAT conservative governor DeSantis to the swamp in DC?
Then those idiots helped install Bite me.🖕
Republicans are tired of losing. Most will support DeSantis because they believe that he has a much better chance than Trump. This poll shows DeSantis up 4 versus Biden and Trump down 7. That seems very reasonable to me. A few Trump loyalists will stay home if we nominate DeSantis, but many other voters want to get rid of Biden but not replace him with Trump.
I appreciate the response but it did not address any of the content I posted.
You nailed it. They were allowed to win. Even St. Ron’s election was intended to prop him up to hurt Trump. The MSM used “Trump endorsed” ad nauseum.
They’re asking the wrong freaking people.
