RICHMOND, Va. (WVIR) - Richmond’s last remaining Confederate monument is set to come down this week.
The removal of the Gen. A.P. Hill statue should begin on Monday.
Hill’s remains have been at the site for more than 130 years. They will be reinterred at a cemetery in Culpeper. Plans call for moving the monument to a Black history museum, though Hill’s indirect descendants want it relocated to a former Civil War battlefield.
Richmond, the onetime capital of the Confederacy, began removing its Confederate monuments in 2020 amid nationwide racial justice protests.

and now, with all those evil statues gone, how is the lives of the "woke", intolerant ones going to be any better?
Naturally, it won't, so they'll move on to another micro-aggression
What a sad way to live.
To: Coronal
Why move it to a black history museum? What is the purpose? I thought the very presence of such a monument would send blacks into fits of triggered terror.

Richmond’s last remaining Confederate monument is set to come down this week. After which, freed from the oppression of the tyrannical bronze statues, the feral negroes of Richmond can continue murdering each other in peace.

Well, let’s deny history. Must not of been a Civil War because as with all major historical events Monuments are erected. So no monument would mean no Civil War, no reason for Civil War, so apparently they weren’t any slaves. If there had been, you want to scream from the top of the hill hey let’s not repeat this mistake.
Kind of like why we keep the concentration camps around and have the holocaust museum.

“...nationwide racial justice protests.”
Nice way to say nationwide rioting, looting, arson, and murder all promoted by the Media-Dem Party.

They had a city with monuments with statues of dead generals covered with bird poo.
Now they have a city with monument bases and half-empty offices. Doesn't seem like much of an improvement.

Richmond has a unique responsibility to preserve that era of American history. It’s sad to see them expunge rather than embrace it. Done properly, Richmond could be the destination city they desire rather than the hell-scape it is.

If I lived anywhere in what was once the “Confederacy” I’d have a giant Stars & Bars decal somewhere on my car. Not because I particularly liked it but to pi$$ off the nation’s Maoists no end! I can’t do it here because a) I would surely be arrested for something and b) I’d probably be murdered.
To: Dr. Sivana
Hill was originally from the Culpeper area. It would not be improper for him to be re-interred there. It was his hometown. Truth be told, I’d be fine with him being re-interred at Hollywood Cemetery. Many other Confederate generals and soldiers are buried there.

Business opportunity for Culpepper.
Collect all the unwanted Confederate era statues and set up a Civil War era historical park.

Thanks for the info. I lived in Front Royal for a couple of years, and Culpepper seemed to be nothing special.
