Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) on Sunday indicated he had not yet decided whether he will run for reelection, but expressed confidence he could pull off a win.
“If I decide to run in this thing, and it’ll be a discussion that I have with my family over the holidays because it is a big undertaking, I feel good about my chances,” Tester told NBC’s Chuck Todd during an appearance on “Meet the Press.”
“People are going to come after me,” Tester, who would be one of the most vulnerable incumbent Senate Democrats if he runs in two years, added. “They’ve come after me in the past, but that’s politics. And we’ll get through it and then hopefully be successful come November of 2024.”
Democrats won a 51-49 Senate majority in this year’s midterms by successfully defending every incumbent and flipping Pennsylvania’s GOP-held Senate seat. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.) subsequently left the party to become an Independent but is still expected to hold committee assignments through the Democratic Caucus.
However, the party faces an uphill battle in the 2024 cycle, with Tester and multiple other red-state Democrats up for reelection and few potential pickup opportunities from GOP-held seats. Other vulnerable Senate Democrats include Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Sen. Sherrod Brown (Ohio)
Former President Trump won Montana by 16 percentage points in 2020 and 20 points four years earlier.
But Montana residents have nonetheless elected Tester to three terms despite simultaneously supporting Republicans for the House and the presidency on the same ballot.

This is the reason Democrats control the Senate, not so much because of Georgia, Arizona, PA or other swing states, but because the people in deep Red states like Montana and West Virginia keep voting in clowns like Tester and Manchin, thinking they’re Zell Miller Democrats. Will the good people of these states please wake up!
No, they don't. The lefties sniff and grovel at the butts of Tester and Manchin because they are leftist butt-grovelers and they want more of the same in office.
The remainder are decent, ordinary, hard-working folk like you and me, and we scratch and scrape every election year trying to get red-blooded voters to the polls, which of late has become just a wee bit more successful.
The long-term judges in the state are sneering enemies of the common man and woman. We did reasonably well in the last cycle because even ordinary folk began to realize the left is insane, murderously so.
This Democrat needs to jump ship and become a Republican...right now!!! Ditto for Joe Manchin of West Virginia!!! Other Democrats weighing jumping ship to GOP!!! Biden is killing both the country and the Democrat Party, and many Democrats know it!!! The overwhelming majority of Democrats do not want Joe Biden running for anything other then...maybe A Dog Catcher!!! Tulsi Gabbard should run foe Senate as a GOP candidate...also!!! She is terrific,,,across the board!!!

Recent photos of Tester show an unhealthy appearing man with a huge alcoholic belly. He might not make it to 2024. BTW, he was a school teacher before he got into politics.
Tester is a hard-core Communist who won his seat in 2006 due to fraud, but in this case due to the Justice Department thugs falsely smearing then-Sen. Conrad Burns as a crook (ditto with Sen. Ted Stevens in AK) in an attempt to get a Demonrat Senate with a wide majority. It worked.
Tester won his first election by cheating.
True. People voter with their wallets and Tester brings YOUR money to Montana. Congress is not what the founders envision. It is now simply a club that disburses money to annointed groups.
Like Pennsylvania, Georgia, we pick crappy candidates.
