Energy Department official Sam Brinton has been accused of stealing airport luggage again. Brinton was charged last month with taking a mother's Vera Bradley suitcase from a Minnesota airport. Now, a warrant has reportedly been issued over accusations that Brinton stole luggage in Las Vegas. Sam Brinton, a top Energy Department official in the Biden administration, has been accused for a second time of stealing luggage at a US airport, according to a Nevada report. Brinton — the deputy assistant secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition at the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy — was charged last month with felony theft over accusations they swiped a mother's Vera Bradley suitcase from an airport in Minnesota, court documents obtained by Insider showed. Now, a felony arrest warrant has been issued for Brinton — who is one of the federal government's first openly "gender fluid" employees and uses they/them pronouns — after they were accused of stealing luggage from Las Vegas, Nevada's Harry Reid International Airport, 8 News Now reported on Thursday, citing sources.

The DOE administrator who approved the Q clearance for this perverted criminal should be fired immediately.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he says he has a disability and that he can’t be fired for being a klepto.
It’s pretty obvious what must be done here. All luggage at all airports must be secured and locked, and watched by guards. Sure, that would be expensive.
But at least Sam Brinton wouldn’t be tempted. And before you disagree, remember that he (she?) is a victim in all this too.

I had a suitcase stolen once, from the Atlanta airport, about 35 years ago. The thief got 4 rolls of undeveloped photos, lots of pregnancy clothes, 2 suits and ties, and a bunch of toddler clothing. Long before eBay so I’m sure a lot of that ended up in the trash.
Fwiw, I’ve never put my address on a luggage tag since then, just a way to contact me. Phone number now.
