Attacks on Pacific north-west power stations raise fears for US electric grid
Guardian ^ | 12/10/22 | Dani Anguiano

A string of attacks on power facilities in Oregon and Washington has caused alarm and highlighted the vulnerabilities of the US electric grid.

The attacks in the Pacific north-west come just days after a similar assault on North Carolina power stations that cut electricity to 40,000 people.

As first reported by Oregon Public Broadcasting and KUOW Public Radio, there have been at least six attacks, some of which involved firearms and caused residents to lose power. Two of the attacks shared similarities with the incident in Moore county, North Carolina, where two stations were hit by gunfire. Authorities have not yet revealed a motive for the North Carolina attack.

The four Pacific north-west utilities whose equipment was attacked have said they are cooperating with the FBI. The agency has not yet confirmed if it is investigating the incidents.

It was not that long ago, barely pre-internet, that the Eco-Nuts were passing around plans and maps to take down major transmission towers.
Because, “Evil hydropower dams”.
Now the dams are being destroyed but those plans and maps are still around.
Less than a mile from my house are DC power transmission lines that start in OR? and end all the way down in So. Cal.
That is a lot of rural unguarded infrastructure and it is only one of many.
We are very vulnerable to infrastructure terrorism and there is really very little that can be done about it other than to cease importing/manufacturing the types that would consider such mayhem as acceptable or even noble.
It’s not just Twit! that needs an overhaul, the entire education system is also rigged to promote communism and extremism.

Could they be Russian agents? or in the pay of Putin? We support Ukraine—let American freeze like Ukraine! They could be local Greenpeace people? Maybe encouraged by Russia? A way to get USA support for a USA vs Russia War? Maybe an FBI False flag—or Mi6 plot?

That’s not good anywhere, but I know it’s already pretty cold there already.

I saw a media outlet that conveniently revealed that the nation’s grid could be taken down by attacking 9 substations. I hope that they’re hardened. I suspect that most of the PNW incidents are random. Thieves, bored hunters.... Power companies need to take a page out of the logging industry’s book and hire “caretakers” to park a trailer or RV near vulnerable logging equipment. Plenty of retired folks enjoy doing that kind of thing. Set ip in the woods, probably paid a nominal amount. A deterrent to most criminal activity.

FBI sharpshooters doing a false flag operation to usher in gun grabs.   They have to do because it's for the power grid!

Why do I fear the “powers that be” are going to take down our electrical grids and blame it on the evil “right-wing”? It would be a great win for the eco-terrorists, and the “no gas or oil” screechers, and give the government even more control over the people.

In Washington state and Oregon, spokespeople for several energy companies - Puget Sound Energy, the Cowlitz County Public Utilities District and Bonneville Power Administration - confirmed the attacks occurred in November.

Emphasis mine. The NC attacks were Decemer 3rd. Media trying to backfill a “stochastic terrorism” narrative.

Daily Mail got (another) one wrong.

Maybe the NW attacks inspired the attack in NC.

www.opb.org/article/2022/12/08/string-of-electrical-grid-attacks-in-pacific-northwest-are-unsolved/%3foutputType=amp

After the attacks on substations in Oregon and Washington, the FBI and Oregon’s Titan Fusion Center issued a memo on Dec. 2 that warned utilities about the recent attacks. The fusion center gathers intelligence to investigate and prevent acts of terrorism.

The next day, two substations in North Carolina were damaged by gunfire, cutting electricity for days to tens of thousands of people.

Anarchists plain & simple.

Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Willy Jeff, el al... Jughead Obomba’s buddy Bill Ayers the weatherman. This present group might have skills and have side hustle’s requiring bkackout clothes, face coverings and headwear.
...just sayin’

The entire region’s recent history on all sides. Oregon is a fractured state, Washington is a Hazmat site and subduction zone. It’s sad, Memeories of a much different place in the early to mid 60s. I guess after the Beatles blew through town it all went to shite afterwards. It’s a cryin’ shame.

“people in Oregon and Washington were completely unaware of them. So, . . no alarm.”

It was just another crime. No need to be alarmed.

Less than a mile from my house are DC power transmission lines that start in OR? and end all the way down in So. Cal.
“One big advantage to HVDC is the efficiency of power transmission over long distances,” George Culbertson, vice president of power delivery markets for HDR, told POWER. “If the transmission line route is longer than about 300 miles, DC is a better option because AC lines have more line losses than DC for bulk power transfer.”
I had to look this up.   Of course that would prevent stealing power with induction coils placed beneath the transmission lines too I guess.

Yeah, that’s what they want. And that’s the narrative that spreads before any correction.

I think it always goes on. The thing to watch will be increased reportage. And now that the media is playing it up, I expect copycats.
