KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Russian forces have “destroyed” the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, while Ukraine’s military on Saturday reported missile, rocket and air strikes in multiple parts of the country that Moscow is trying to conquer after months of resistance.
The latest battles of Russia’s 9 1/2 month war in Ukraine have centred on four provinces that Russian President Vladimir Putin triumphantly — and illegally — claimed to have annexed in late September. The fighting indicates Russia’s struggle to establish control of those regions and Ukraine’s persistence to reclaim them.

Bakhmut, Mariupol’ are now look alike twins.
Its a war of attrition where no one ‘wins’, just one side looses less.
I believe they are only left with trebuchets and rotting corpses.
Get everyone out but burn everything and salt the soil before leaving.

Meanwhile in Russia: the host and his guest concur that Ukraine should be erased off the map and even the memory that it existed should be destroyed. The host says that Russia will always be an empire and being in a state of war is only natural for any empire of Russia's size.

I’ve asked this on other threads, not you particular, but what is with the childish name calling?
Just another example of the US lighting off wars in formerly peaceful countries. Have a look at Hillary’s work in Syria, pretty much the same results.
“We had to destroy the village in order to save it”. That was an american officer in vietnam. When you fight over a city for months it tends to not be good for the city. Stalingrad and berlin didn’t look too healthy after being fought over. It’s sad that so many young men are killing each other. After the war is over there won’t be winners and losers, only survivors and the dead.
