Twitter owner Elon Musk dropped another batch of files exposing his predecessors for lying about the existence of the platform’s elusive shadowbanning operation.
Former New York Times editor Bari Weiss, who first reported on the second batch of Twitter files Dec. 8, noted that they show how Twitter employees “build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users.”
“Twitter executives have been lying to Congress and to the American public,” MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider said. “This is an illegal fraud on all of us. DOJ, SEC, FTC and the FEC should immediately investigate for criminal and other violations of law.”
Weiss illustrated through snapshots how Twitter personalities like conservative radio host Dan Bongino, the popular Libs of TikTok account, Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk and Stanford medicine professor Jay Bhattacharya were placed on a “Search Blacklist,” a “Do Not Amplify” list and a “Trends Blacklist,” respectively. The release of the documents blows up the gaslighting that ex-Twitter executives like former CEO Jack Dorsey and former General Counsel Vijaya Gadde have fed Americans for years that the platform does not shadowban people.

Wasn’t one of the issues that came up during some hearings with Facebook, Twitter, etc was that they were controlling content and since they were, they couldn’t fall under Section 230?
Something that Pres Trump wanted to get rid of but Congress blocked him at every turn.
This exceeds section 230. Its blatent fascism.
OK, now there is direct evidence
But is anyone surprised?
That was the case with most everything Trump wanted to do. McConnell and Graham would threaten him and say because "you're under investigation".
The Left loves their Situational Ethics — “Yeah, they did a bad thing ... and, Yeah, they lied about it ... but ... it was for a good cause. I mean: Trump is literally Hitler. So, it’s cool.”
When Republican assume control in January they need to refer the tech execs who lied to the DOJ for prosecution.
No doubt Twitter executives lied before Congressional committees on their not censoring political speech. I may hope that a Republican House of Representatives will investigate these matters and charge them with false witness. I may also hope for Santa Claus to bring me a million dollars.
It would seem to me that lying about shadowbanning would expose these executives to lawsuits, both against Twitter, and by Musk against those executives.
Wouldn’t you love to see Twitter shell out billions, and then Musk recouping those billions by arguing, “you had known, concealed liabilities”?
Now, Musk can get a cell next to Julian Assange.
Can you imagine the reaction if cigarette companies argued against liability by claiming that everyone knew that smoking caused cancer?
Meanwhile at the doh-j headquarters-——😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

While it is obvious they were shadow-banning right leaning users, it cannot be understated how they also banned or shadow-banned just about anyone who dissented from the orthodox party line; especially when it came to the Pandemic. Censoring politics is very bad. Censoring science is dangerous.
Wonder what their Freeper handles are.
Makes you wonder exactly how much stuff went through the virtual shredder in the months before the purchase if this is just the stuff they missed
Fat chance I am guessing there will be an investigation. Yet if a Republican was at fault for some obscure election rule, they would be indicted already.

12. The group that decided whether to limit the reach of certain users was the Strategic Response Team - Global Escalation Team, or SRT-GET. It often handled up to 200 “cases” a day.
13. But there existed a level beyond official ticketing, beyond the rank-and-file moderators following the company’s policy on paper. That is the “Site Integrity Policy, Policy Escalation Support,” known as “SIP-PES.”
14. This secret group included Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust (Vijaya Gadde), the Global Head of Trust & Safety (Yoel Roth), subsequent CEOs Jack Dorsey and Parag Agrawal, and others.
(also stuff about “former” FBI and CIA being hired for content moderation)
