Poll: DeSantis surges to 5-point lead over weakened Trump in 2024 primary matchup
Yahoo News ^ | 12/08/2022 | Andrew Romano

A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll finds that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis now leads former President Donald Trump by 5 percentage points in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

Trump previously led DeSantis by double-digit margins among registered voters who describe themselves as Republicans or Republican-leaning independents.

Meanwhile, DeSantis is ahead by even more — a whopping 11 points — among Americans who say they voted in a 2016 Republican primary or caucus in their state.

The poll of 1,635 U.S. adults, which was conducted from Dec. 1 to 5, is one of the first to confirm how far and fast Trump’s political stock has fallen in the weeks since he announced his own comeback White House bid just days after his party’s historically poor performance in the 2022 midterm elections. During that period, many conservatives blamed Trump for blowing key pickup opportunities — including this week’s Senate runoff in Georgia — and criticized the former president for hosting avowed antisemites at Mar-a-Lago and calling for the “termination” of the Constitution.

“Anyone seeking the presidency who thinks that the Constitution could somehow be suspended or not followed, it seems to me would have a very hard time being sworn in as president of the United States,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday.

I’m sure you meant well, but your post made this thread impossible to read.

Democrats creating divisions among Republicans, who are not natural team players.

That would be quite a drop from the long standing 30+ point lead these types of polls had been showing, but it is likely the trend, which is the main benefit of polls.

Politics has become boring. “Trump is losing” is all we’re going to hear for 1.9 years. Then he’ll do well on election night and the counting will stop. Dems will get the ev ‘s they need in the hours or days following

Utterlly predictable.

Politics has become boring.

I waiver from the sentiment that the fix is in and this is just theater to the position of hope that a Goldwater type person runs and wins the general election.

Doesn’t really matter. All shiny objects to keep the rubes engaged. Voting is a waste of time.

Here are the 2024 results:

President: Democrat
House: Democrat
Senate: Democrat

Now you don’t have to pay attention to all this noise.

Until we get a handle on the VBM , vote by mail, election month for Dems and one day for us , it doesn’t matter who is on the top of the ticket they will lose. They collect ballots from Dems for a month-sort of legal cheating-plus it allows the other kind of cheating-

Trump made Big Pharma lower the prices of their drugs which they did reluctantly and did not like it. Why is it that Americans have such short memories? The COVID jab was recommended by the highest paid Federal employee in our nation, NOT Trump, and Trump DID NOT make it mandatory. It was the individual states who imposed mandates and rules for their respective citizens.

Because it’s not true. They said Trump was down 18 in Wisconsin. This forum has gotten dumber and dumber over the years. They think this will dislodge Trump? It will not and that will be quite evident when Desanctimonius takes a position on something or tries to actually lead in something and not PRETEND that he believes in everything Trump believes in.

Dude, could you just post a link next time.

Anyhow, most all of that massive wall of text was erased in 2020 when Trump handed the country over to Dr. Fauci.

They don’t even take polls. They don’t have to prove anything and even moreso 2 years out. Why would they spend a couple of millions on a poll that is obsolete the day it comes out. Don’t be a fool your entire life.

Maybe that was the whole idea?

If not, perhaps Bikkuri would consider pasting this on his home page and posting a link to it instead next time. It is not the first time he has posted it here, and I doubt it was the last.
