Biden Admin Will Ban Fossil Fuel Use In New Federal Buildings By 2030

The Biden administration on Wednesday announced a new proposed rule that will prevent new or newly renovated federal buildings from being powered by fossil fuels by 2030.

The new standards will force the government to use green energy technologies to power its buildings in hopes of cutting carbon emissions and meeting international climate goals, according to an Energy Department (DOE) memo. Starting in 2025, government buildings, which are responsible for roughly 25% of all federal carbon emissions, must also reduce their on-site emissions relating to energy use by 90% compared to 2003 levels.

“Ridding pollution from our buildings and adopting clean electricity are some of the most cost-effective and future-oriented solutions we have to combat climate change,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in a statement.

President Joe Biden is promoting green energy and phasing out fossil fuels throughout the entire federal government, setting a “net-zero” goal for government carbon emissions by 2050, according to a White House fact sheet. The DOE stated that the new regulation could reduce federal buildings’ methane emissions by 22.8 thousand tons and those buildings’ carbon emissions by 1.86 million metric tons over the next 30 years, which is roughly equivalent to the emissions produced by nearly 300,000 homes annually.

I challenge today’s electrical cable manufacturers to make cables, particularly the insulation which is plastic, w/out using fossil fuels.

2030 is only 7 years away. Better get started today on the R & D. Remember, no fossil fuels may be used in the manufacturing process.

They've been playing this GEHA commercial in the Washington DC area. For those who don't know, the acronym stands for "Government Employees Health Association".

GEHA Starts With You

I LOL whenever I see it on TV. The gist of it is "all of these wonderful things in life is thanks to you federal employees".

Yeah, right...

Kerosene, yes. But there are ways to make candles that don't involve fossil fuels.

Not saying I want it that way, just that it can be done.

This should be easy, demolish the unnecessary buildings, and shutter the bureaucracy.

Back on the 60s the utility companies were promoting “all-electric homes” as the wave of the future. Looks like Biden has finally caught up with the 1960s.

“Why wait until 2030?”

Because leftism is a process not an end. Come 2030, with coal and gas still powering the Capitol and the DC bureaucrats, they’ll launch another “ambitious plan” to make DC carbon neutral by 2045.

That’s why, according to the left, the earth will always be dying in five years.
