The city folks that plow the streets seem to be really careful, at least on my end of the cul-de-sac. They plow all the snow to the sides (the street can get VERY narrow at times) but have a “gate” on the end of the blade that they put down and not leave more snow in driveways. (Altho I have heard more than a few complaints about leaving berms of HARD PACKED snow at the end of driveways because they didn’t put the gate down.
I haven’t seen any downed mailboxes, or heard complaints on my street. Our biggest problems are cul-de-sacs are low on the list, and when a new plow driver tries to plow the end of the cul-de-sac snow out towards the yards. They usually find out pretty quickly that means big trucks and emergency vehicles, etc lose their turning radius. So here at the end they purposely plow the snow into a pile in the middle.
I have a plow service now for the driveway and can only wait til they get here. My mailbox has been taken out by a pickup doing donuts in the summer. And they do like to slide on the ice...of course never knowing if they will take out a mailbox or not.
I did...I do try to catch up, albeit late. LOL!! Now answered. 😁
Thanks for cross posting. So many of us here live in the northern climates (me - west Michigan). I have a deep rooted parsley plant in my garden that is green still but not growing obviously, experiment to see if it makes it through the winter.
We’re in Houston. It is almost the tropics here. ;-)
Very nice! Cheered me right up! :)
Sorry I missed your PING until now - been down with a cold.
