It’s my understanding Twitter doesn’t own their building; that it’s leased.
I’m further led to believe that the company that does own the building sets up the janitorial contracts with the occupants leasing space in the building.
So Musk doesn’t have a direct agreement with the Union, he has a third-party contract in hand that he can terminate if he doesn’t like the services being provided under the contract.

So this isn’t about labor law at all; it’s about contract law.

This was extensively discussed all over Twitter, and I’m a bit dismayed that Blaze doesn’t seem to have done its homework on this story.

"He chose to fire so many of us during a difficult time period in the tech industry," said Adrian Trejo Nunez, another former employee.

They are suing for severance packages that were promised before Musk's acquisition of Twitter but which were not delivered to the fired employees.

Severance packages that were 'promised'? As in, part of your hiring contract? Or you assumed you'd get one because you were higher up / made too much money anyway?
