McCarthy is not going to do anything because he’s a spineless, double-talking weasel.

No it doesn’t mean a worse choice it just means the POS has to resign or face humiliation.

Who are these people that trust in McCarthy? Surely it should not be Freepers here. He’s been a RINO from the get go. He is of the same Ilk as Paul “Eddie Munster” Ryan

Correct.

What would you do in his shoes?

He’s got to resign, preferably soon and let them pick a real leader.

It would probably be Scalise if the deck was clear so to speak.

And he would be a decent choice.

You shouldn’t be so mean. Frank Luntz will hit you with his purse for denigrating his girlfriend.

I that’s the game Kevin McCarthy with his roommate Frank “nice rug” Luntz. That’s addition to the reach around they are giving in Washington when they are trying to be bipartisan for “the good of the people” which I am hearing him and other RINOs saying not that have to work together with Democrats. NO WE DONT

Trump needs to withdraw his endorsement of McCarthy.

I’d be in favor of Biggs, Gohmert, or MTG.

Yes. Both McCarthy and McConnell took FTX filthy lucre. McDaniel did, too, I expect.

The one option that is always off the table… is that establishment GOP support the conservatives choice. You are saying the GOP would literally throw in with democrats rather than deal with the freedom caucus.

By the way, when has that seat at the table done anything for us? Obamacare still here. Wall still not built. Etc.

I'm not saying that Republicans as a whole would throw in with the Democrats rather than deal with the Freedom Caucus.

All we need is 5 of the Democrats pretending to be Republicans in the House to jump ship and we have Nancy Pelosi 2 in as Speaker.

Stranger things have happened in the later rounds of House floor fights

And yes the Republicans have been a disaster - that's why they lost Congress and Nancy Pelosi Chucky Schumer have been running the show. Republicans said FU to Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor and John Boehner and didn't turn out.

Now we have worse with Pelosi and Schumer than we ever had with any of the Republicans, bad as they were.

In fact Republicans would tell voters with a sneer you don't like our politics, too bad . The Democrat option is way worse so where else are you going to go?

Vote for me, if you know what's good for you.

And they were right.

Sucks to be us, but it's the world we live in.

If Republicans had turned out in high enough number to beat the margin of vote fraud things would have been much different , but they didn't and we have the slimiest of majorities.

I'm frankly stunned that enough House Republicans have not jumped ship to the Democrats like Liz Cheney has to give Democrats full control. If there is a floor fight free for all, it is very possible that enough Republicans could be bribed into jumping ship.

We lost and have to accept that the next two years are going to be hard to swallow at times with McCarthy but he is the only option at this point

Here's what's going to happen:

Either Republicans are going to get their sh-t together and elect McCarthy as Speaker;

Or, he's going to have to go across the aisle and get 10-12 votes from Democrats in order to get to 218. If that happens, he will have to make concessions to the Dems in order to get their votes.

How do you people not realize this???

Yes Jim Jordan makes the most sense. Clown show McCarthy was on Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday show bragging about getting Jordan’s support which was a dig to conservatives that he should be trusted if he has Jordan’s support.

Let’s not overlook the fact that the Speaker of the House is also the Commander of the Capitol Police and the Commandant of the Capitol Jail.

Judith Miller, 2005.
Contempt of Congress.

I’d be in favor of Biggs, Gohmert, or MTG.

Certainly Louis Gohmert would be a GREAT speaker, but I can’t figure out for the life of me why he decided not to run for re-election to a very safe seat in order to throw his hat into a crowded Texas Attorney General race that he had no chance to win. I can only assume he is just sick-and-tired of dealing with all the crap that is Washington. Northeast Texas needed you in Congress, Mr. Gohmert! Bless you in your future endeavors, whatever that may be!

Wake up guys..

McCarthy will cut a deal for some D votes if push comes to shove.

Most likely promising to make sure the amnesty “deal” gets passed or something else for them.
