Not everyone was a Nurse Ratchet.
"Leaving crazy people homeless is far worse for everyone."
Know doubt.
"They just need to be open about treatment and medication."
Open to who? That could go against the HIPAA act of 1996 regarding patient privacy. The law would have to be changed.
Open to oversight personnel, not the public.
Essentially approved treatments only.
I wasn’t saying everyone was nurse Ratched.
I was never in favor of closing mental hospitals.
Well at least she will never have to worry about breast cancer, at least there is that
No sympathy here. She got what she wanted, but now doesn’t want it. If any therapist or doctor had tried to discourage her from her “gender affirming care” there would have been lefty protests and people would be cancelled. They have even passed a law in Cali that you can’t provide any corrective mental therapy to any member of the alphabet club.
Okay, but we both know “oversight” committees, panels, regulations are often done behind closed doors. I don’t have the answer for transparency for these poor souls. Sorry, I wasn’t accusing you of implicating all mental health professionals were/are Nurse Ratchet.
She should sue them, and also the media that prevented sane people from posting warnings about chopping off body parts.
No sympathy. You asked for it, now live with it.
I was just clarifying. :)
Glad I’m nearing the end...I don’t want to see what’s in store...
I remember what happened. We all agree now that mental hospitals should be opened again, but where? Most people wouldn't want to live near one. Some of the patients are violent, and they don't stay in the hospital forever. Many of them are placed into the local community to live on their own as outpatients.
In the early 70s they were first allowed to teach in schools. Prior to that it was forbidden and they were considered mentally ill.
I'm a grown adult. If I wanted my perfectly healthy left arm hacked off because I identified as an amputee, no doctor in the country would comply. They'd be violating their Hippocratic Oath of "Do no harm."
This should be treated no differently.
They aren't the only ones. In 2016 the 0bama administration tried to make performing such surgery mandatory for doctors, who would face severe penalties for refusing. In 2019 it was ruled unconstitutional to force doctors to do so against their religious objections, not simply their medical judgment. This grotesque "transforming America" fantasy was supported right at the political top and by people powerful enough to get the state to do their ideological dirty work for them.
This young woman was a casualty in this obscene culture war but the people really responsible for it are beyond reach and know it. Academics, journalists, politicians, celebrities are on that list as well as the physicians and counselors who have embraced it. For them Camille and others like her are acceptable losses in a campaign for an "inclusive" society with all the compassion of a circus freak show behind it.
Drs. should be avoiding these crazies as if they had Ebola.
“drill a hole in her skull”
Good point. If the medical profession was doing that, there’s no way they would get away with it.
Especially if they were putting an icepick in there and scrambling up perfectly good frontal lobes.
Oh, wait. Never mind.
The fact she asked for it is proof she's not capable.
I hope this happens more and more, sue them all.
“where she minored in gender studies”
Indoctrination of radical theories as psychological “facts” about gender. Such theories should not offered as a discipline but only in concert with other courses that offer other more traditional views about gender and offer specific criticism of the radical geneder theories. Without those alternative courses espousing those theories cannot be anything more than indoctrination, not “education”.
You’re asking for an “all or nothing” solution. Ideal as that might be, that just muddies the conversation. Save the children first, then deal with adults who in many cases have mental issues.
Tough luck “it”...you signed for the procedure.
