Howdy, Kathy.
We had a few sprinkles this afternoon but that’s about all we were expecting. Tomorrow through Thursday look real good - 70% chance tomorrow through Wednesday and 60% Thursday. As dry as we’ve been, I LIKE that forecast!
I did make a quick run to the store for milk and a couple other things and got that done in the dry.
Did you get your stuff delivered and the car gassed up?

Our Daily Bread

Daily Dependence
Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11
One morning our younger kids decided to get up early and fix breakfast for themselves. Tired from a grueling week, my wife and I were trying to sleep until at least 7:00 a.m. on that Saturday morning. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash! I jumped out of bed and raced downstairs to find a shattered bowl, oatmeal all over the floor, and Jonasâour five-year-oldâdesperately trying to sweep (more like smear) the gooey mess off the floor. My children were hungry, but they chose not to ask for help. Instead of reaching out in dependence, they chose independence, and the result was definitely not a culinary delight.
In human terms, children are meant to grow from dependence to independence. But in our relationship with God, maturity means moving from independence to dependence on Him. Prayer is where we practice such dependent ways. When Jesus taught His disciplesâand all of us who have come to believe in Himâto pray, âGive us today our daily breadâ (Matthew 6:11), He was teaching a prayer of dependence. Bread is a metaphor for sustenance, deliverance, and guidance (vv. 11â13). Weâre dependent on God for all that and more.
There are no self-made believers in Jesus, and weâll never graduate from His grace. Throughout our lives, may we always begin our day by taking the posture of dependence as we pray to âour Father in heavenâ (v. 9). â Glenn Packiam
Whatâs the âbreadâ youâre praying for today? How do you reveal your trust in God as you call out to Him?
Dear Jesus, Youâre my Creator and my Sustainer. Please help me to trust in You.

Our next recital will probably be in May. However, the kids are doing Christmas Songs. Their favorite is my own simplified arrangement of “Carol of the bells”.
Tippy and I are taking our walks, as it is still in the 30’s, but if it gets any colder or snowy, we will have to keep our walks shorter and more “business only”.

I did...Costco gas was $3.759! All the places I passed on Thursday were $4 and up...I saw $4.09. AND...with waiting 3 deep in most lines, a line opened just as I was trying to choose which line to join (I always pick the wrong line, no matter where I am) and I drove right up. Then a perfect drop of a car full of stuff and no line. I wasn’t out much more than 30 minutes. I need to load the car again this week.

Your day went really well! Luck was on your side all the way.
I had some luck too. Got to the store and the parking lot was packed. It looked like I was going to have to park a mile from the door but I made one more drive-around. As I got close to the door, a car pulled out of a space that was very close and I dove into that space.
When I got up to the checkout area, there were long lines. BUT, I noticed one checkout that had a couple almost through checking out with no one behind them. I made a mad dash and got there before anyone else had a chance. I considered that better luck than being able to park close. LOL

Maybe I said it before but my uncle was a pilot in the Army Air Corps and participated in it. My aunt was also in officer in the AAC.
