I've been saying this as well. I think if McCarthy doesn't get enough support in the first or second round vote, then the caucus could coalesce around Scalise.

I believe there are other plans for Scalise in the works. McCarthy will take it and I really have no problem with him. Some of you folks are looking for some non-existent person for the job.

I agree that Scalise is the favorite to become Speaker if McCarthy fails but I don’t think he’s any better than McCarthy.
I seem to recall that when Scalise became the house majority whip in 2014, he fired the most conservative staffers.
Regardless, McCarthy needs to go. He’s toxic.

Scalise would be great choice but to be fair, Chuck Todd has never been right about anything he’s evr predicted.

I’d rather have Andy Biggs or Jim Jordan. Nothing against Scalise, but I don’t think he’s aggressive enough.

Is he more conservative than RINO McCarthy?

Scalise is a squish, too.
We need a younger, bolder patriot.
To: cotton1706
So basically the same.... we can have anyone we want as long as it’s a neocon squish.

Scalise is even more stupid than McCarthy. He got shot with an AK and nearly died... and still refuses to have any backbone against the enemy.

I’d take Scalise over McCarthy, anyday.

All I have heard from most of the Republicans is “bipartisan” and “working with the Democrats”, who have basically said, “we want bipartisanship but the far right wing has to go”, which is being echoed by the Republicans.
They are all the same.
