Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said Saturday that the outage was being investigated as a "criminal occurrence." The vandalism appeared to be intentional, but the motive is unknown at this time.
A massive power outage is being reported in Moore County.
A Duke Energy outage map Saturday evening showed 37,998 customers without power in Moore County; The Randolph Electric Membership Corporation also reported nearly 3,000 customers without power in the southern part of the county. As of Sunday at 8 a.m. 38,890 people are without power, according to a Duke Energy outage map. WRAL viewers began calling in to report outages around 8 p.m. Saturday. The outages for Duke remain unchanged, and power isn't expected to be restored until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Jeff Brooks with Duke Energy said crews are experiencing "multiple equipment failures" that are affecting substations in Moore County.
"We are actively investigating signs of potential vandalism related to the outages," Brooks said.

The local cops (did the FBI tell them to do this) actually knocked on the door of woman opposing an LGBTQ “drag show” in the area last night.
I guess she was the first suspect on their frickin list.

It’s a relatively easy matter to take out a few transformers with a high powered rifle, happened a few years ago in California.

At the time I suspected it was instigated by Chinese agents to test how easy it would be to pull off something like this. I’ve always thought a grid attack would come before any exchange of nukes. also think a biowarfare attack would come before any nuclear exchange too. There’s probably hundreds of thousands Chinese agents embedded here, and they woud be activated in any military confrontation with the US.

As I recall, Moore County is a quiet area in the sandhills, including Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Whispering Pines. It is a popular golf haven. Very strange.
