The word ‘catholic’ implies universal, involving all of humanity. This Pope is NOT a Pope for all. He’s a partisan secular ideologue. He’s exactly what the left and the supporters of Marxism wanted.
The left always examines its failures and looks for ways to make themselves ‘successful’ the next time out. After the collapse of the USSR the left examined all the factors that led to the failure of their great experiment - the USSR.
These factors included how religious faith helped people resist secular indoctrination and oppression. They recognized John Paul II as a symbol of faith in the context of oppression. The next time around they wouldn’t let that happen.
