President Biden "has carefully and cautiously waged war in Ukraine with no American troops." He just "had one of the best first term off-year elections in history." Nancy Pelosi? Ron Klain? Jill Biden?
No. That was Newt Gingrich — leader of the Republican revolution of 1994, which swept him in as speaker of the House.
"Quit Underestimating President Biden," Gingrich wrote in a column this week. "[C]onservatives' hostility to the Biden administration ... tends to blind us to just how effective Biden has been on his terms."
Why it matters: Gingrich has a point. If you look at Biden's legislative accomplishments, he has exceeded expectations for a Congress where Democrats hold narrow majorities, and a country that's split in two.
Gingrich, 79, told me: "I was thinking about football and the clarity of winning and losing. It hit me that, measured by his goals, Biden has been much more successful than we have been willing to credit."

Gingrich (predictably) totally misses that Biden had legislative success because the Republicans were his partners, and Biden’s popularity could be crushed if Elected Republicans had a resistance and media strategy where they actually said something bad about the old crook.

Newt mistakenly failed to recognize the power of the UniParty...in 1998...and is still failing to recognize it...
He does make the point that we say no to everything. But we never have solutions to make everyone say yes. That needs to change. We need some good policies.
Biden has had a successful legislative agenda BECAUSE he had a democrat majority in congress. And democrats vote in lock step, unlike republicans. Trump couldn’t get border security passed, even with a republican majority.
So is Gingrich saying we should support open borders?

Many here predicted a red wave as well. It was stunning the predictions knowing the Supreme Court decision on abortion gave democrats the incentive to get their voters out. And I’m not sure the decision helped. Before, we had limits and now states have abortion on demand at any time. in the states that are trying to ban it completely, they are getting stopped in the courts, so how does it help?
Lol. We had a congressional majority and we got tax cuts. Oh the rich are forever. The middle class until 2026. Wow. Impressive.
