National City police are asking the public to help them locate two men who pistol-whipped, kidnapped, and assaulted a 76-year-old woman.

Authorities asked for the public's help Thursday in locating the two men responsible for robbing, assaulting, and kidnapping a 76-year-old woman from a National City church.

National City police dispatchers received a 911 call on Nov. 28 around 9 p.m. detailing a possible robbery in the 1400 block of East 8th Street, according to police.

Officers arrived at the reported address and found a 76-year-old woman with significant trauma to her face, according to Lieutenant Derek Aydelotte with the National City Police Department.

An investigation into the incident revealed two black men at gunpoint confronted the victim while inside the International Church of Praise at 1341 East 8th Street in National City, police said.

"While inside the church, the victim was pistol-whipped in the face causing injury. The suspects then forced the victim into her vehicle, parked outside," a release said.

The suspects kidnapped the woman in her vehicle and demanded her home address, to which she was driven by the two men in the City of San Diego, according to police.

Reports indicated the suspects and the victim arrived at her home, but nobody exited the car, then the suspects drove the victim back to National City in her car and left alone inside the vehicle outside of a strip mall located in the 1400 block of East 8th Street.

The woman was able to escape and seek help at a nearby business, Aydelotte said.

The victim's current condition is unknown.

National City police said they were working to determine the motive and events that led up to "the violent incident," and an investigation is underway.

I fail to understand why they are looking for the thugs who did this. It’s not as if they will receive any punishment for their actions. I guess the police can mark it down as a “crime solved” and thus improve their arrest statistics, but does anyone believe that if arrested, the criminals will spend more than a few hours in jail, while their release paperwork is processed and the charges reduced? Even is arrested and charged, after being sentenced to a few months probation, they will return to their usual life of crime. I’m sure this is not their first foray into criminal actions and I suspect they have a long record of arrests (with no punishment).

It sounds like some generic tv show location, like Statesville Prison.

So, is this so-called National City in any particular state or country?

From Wikipedia:

“National City is a city located in the South Bay region of the San Diego metropolitan area, in southwestern San Diego County, California.”

I believe that many FReepers think they will catch cooties or worse the feds watching them if they go outside of FR. Many absolutely will not click on an outside link. Hated to burst their bubble but the five eyes are watching them already.

This is a black-on-black crime, I think, from what I saw when I searched International Church of Praise. The victim may know exactly who they are. She may have a son or grandson who owes them money, something like that. Snatched out of a church? That’s personal.

National City police said they were working to determine the motive and events that led up to "the violent incident,"

Lets see. Maybe because they inherited the savage gene. Maybe because they never knew for certain who their bio father was and had a revolving door of mama's boyfriends in and out of the house. Maybe because no one taught them right from wrong or cared that they came home at night instead of hangin' with gangs. Maybe they don't have jobs and never learned responsibility. Maybe because they were never punished for past crimes long enough to make an impression upon them.

Of course, there is no description of the low life scum who need to be under the prison never to see the light of day again.
