Russia planned to start the invasion with a "massive missile and airstrike campaign" against Ukrainian military targets, RUSI says, with a list also showing who should be killed, who would be intimidated and who would be targeted as a collaborator.
A British defence and security think tank has revealed details of Moscow's pre-invasion plan for Ukraine, based on captured Russian documents apparently signed off by Vladimir Putin.
Russia had planned to take over Ukraine over 10 days and annex it by August this year, the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI) said.

Those captured plans will make great evidence at the war crimes trials.
The first charges may be filed this month.

Shortly after the war started, The Ukrainian military put up what they said were captured invasion documents on
Facebook. Forbes reported that Russia planned for a
fifteen day operation. The RUSI is a more detailed analysis of what has been uncovered so far, since the beginning of the invasion. It is consistent with early estimates that Russia wanted to conqueror Ukraine in a blitzkrieg in two weeks and spend the rest of the year mopping up. It was only after the invasion started, and Ukraine kept holding off defeat, that the flaws in the Russian government and military were fully out in the open.

That this was the Russian strategy was obvious a long time ago. The first two phases of the strategy failed.

Rather than attacking the source, how about coming up with some facts that contradict what the source says?

Huh? What is the logic behind that statement? That doesn't make any sense at all. It's clear to all that Russia was attempting a
coup de main to quickly seize Kyiv and overthrow the Ukrainian government. Calling it a "SMO" instead of a war was just a fig leaf to disguise the true nature of the operation, probably with as much to do with concerns about domestic Russian politics as it had with international repercussions.
This sort of quick military action is typical of Russian/Soviet practice and was used against Hungary in 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1968, and Afghanistan in 1979. In fact, the failed airborne assault on Kyiv most closely resembles the Soviet use of Spetsnaz troops to quickly seize Kabul and topple the Afghan government in 1979.

Ukraine reminds me of the mid-east.It's an area of the world that the US should stay the hell out of forever!
Of course when you launder billions for a corrupt political party currently running things it's hard to stay out......
