Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the situation at the front as difficult, with intense fighting in the east, northeast and south of Ukraine.
He said Russian forces are “planning something” in the south of the country, where fighting has been intense around the area of Zaporizhzhia and the nuclear power plant there, but did not give any details of what Ukraine believes could happen.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country’s armed forces are preparing a “countermeasure” to Russia’s advances that will exceed prior ones.
Zelenskyy made the comment during his nightly address to the nation, and following a meeting he held with the general staff of the Armed Forces.
“We are analyzing the intentions of the occupiers and are preparing a countermeasure - an even more powerful countermeasure than it’s been,” he said, speaking Ukrainian.

The European Union proposed to set up a U.N.-backed court to investigate possible war crimes Russia committed in Ukraine, and to use frozen Russian assets to rebuild the war-torn country.

If Putin was smart, he’d make the “good will gesture” and withdraw from all of Ukraine.
It should be obvious by now, he can’t win this. Ukraine is getting better intelligence, better weapons, and better training. More advanced weapons are flowing into Ukraine and accelerating.
Frozen Russian reserves are about to start being dispersed to help rebuild the damage Russia is causing and to feed the refugees.
Meanwhile the brain drain continues and able bodied men are still fleeing Russia.
One can but wonder.
Will the war crimes tribunal come to America to depose Freepers guilty of supporting and advancing the Russian war crimes?
No gesture or good will can save Russia from paying the reparations needed to rebuild what they have destroyed in Ukraine.

Did the article say putins war crimes? I think they are talking about crimes committed by generals and soldiers in the battle.
I don’t want putin too win but they win by killing enough Ukraine troops that they can’t replenish. Russia can afford to lose millions... it’s what they do. So Ukraine can win in killing more Russians but lose the war because they don’t have as many they can lose.

I still believe in freedom of thought/speech. And clearly support for someone as vile and disgusting as Putin is offensive to Free people, the choice is theirs.
I am curious as how the Russians will supply their new conscripts when the weather turns really cold. Their logistics seem to have been very poor to this point and feeding, clothing, and keeping from freezing hundreds of thousands of conscripts is a very logistically heavy lift . We used to say don’t f with food and pay, we will figure out the rest. From what I have seen and read(I know what is real and what isn’t) the Russians are not doing a good job with either. Except for perhaps their mercs the basic Russian soldier seems to be mostly on his own. Not well supplied, trained, or led. The number of dead Russian soldiers due to the environment may exceed all combat casualties. I read once that dysentery resulted in more casualties for the German forces in North Africa than combat.
Being cold and hungry leads to death and illness. Not good for combat effectiveness
