RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — A day after a 60-year-old bicyclist was “gravely” wounded in a Rancho Cordova assault, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the man was attacked with a machete and that his injuries are “not survivable.” Detectives have also identified the suspect as a 42-year-old who has not yet been located.
James Hall is believed to have hit the man in the head with a machete Monday around 6:15 p.m. near Zinfandel Drive and Italia Way, spokesperson Rod Grassmann said. He is considered a risk to the public and to law enforcement officers. If anyone sees him, they are asked to not approach him and instead call 911
