The Supplies For Russia’s Southern Armies Run Through Dzhankoy. The Ukrainians Know It.
Forbes ^ | November 28, 2022 | David Axe

Dzhankoy, a rail and road hub in northern Crimea, 50 miles south of the Ukrainian mainland, was a critical node in Russia’s supply network before September, when Ukrainian forces launched a counteroffensive that ultimately liberated much of Russian-occupied southern Ukraine.

Now, as Russian field armies reposition on the left bank of the Dnipro River, just south of the newly-liberated port city of Kherson, Dzhankoy is even more important to the Russian war effort. The Kremlin is reorganizing its supply network for the southern front. Dzhankoy is at the center of the new network.

Ukrainian planners know this. So it should come as no surprise that Dzhankoy now is a top target of Ukraine’s long counterlogistics campaign.

With a prewar population of just 39,000, Dzhankoy isn’t a big town. But it lies astride the main rail line running from southern Russia, across the bridge over the Kerch Strait and into northern Crimea and southern Kherson Oblast on the Dnipro’s left bank. The E105 and E97 roads also intersect in Dzhankoy.

The canal carrying fresh water from the Dnipro into Crimea runs through the town. There also is an airfield in Dzhankoy.

(snip)

Once in Crimea, those supplies still travel by rail and road—and pass through Dzhankoy. As Ukraine’s counterlogistics campaign escalated in August, Ukrainian forces—possibly HIMARS operating at the edges of its striking range—struck the airfield in Dzhankoy, triggering explosions that wrecked ammunition dumps and scattered munitions along nearby roads. The Ukrainians hit Dzhankoy again on Nov. 16.

Into the closing stages of Jens Stoltenberg answering questions in Bucharest and he is asked about a potential second wave of migration from Ukraine as the winter conditions worsen.

Recent figures show that since 24 February up until 22 September, more than 7.4 million refugees have fled Ukraine into Europe.

The Nato general secretary expects more to follow as key Ukrainian infrastructure continues to be hit.

“Many have crossed into Romania - that demonstrates how timely that we meet here,” he says.

“We have to be prepared for more refugees coming into Europe. This is a war - a brutal war.”

But Comrade Cranked, you said that the Ukrainians would NEVER take back Kherson, and that it was Russian forever.

So what happened?

Exactly, Vlad is de-populating , de-energizing, de- industrializing, de-militarizing the Ukies at every turn….but yet the Biden war cheerleaders somehow think that they are winning. Carry on war cheerleaders, your hangover will be a doozy.

This is a war - a brutal war..

Yes! It is a war. A real war and the Ruskies are winning it.

So, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, you got what you wanted. Now deal with it -- if you can.

Vald is also demilitarizing his own country too. He is now conscripting young boys and old men. This was Hitlers plan also when he ran out of fighting men.

Most, not all, of the attacks on the Serbian power grid used carbon fibers to TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN THE GRID.

Not HE bombs to destroy the grid.

The graphite bomb was first used against Iraq in the Gulf War (1990–1991), knocking out 85% of the electrical supply. Similarly, the BLU-114/B "Soft-Bomb" graphite bomb was used by NATO against Serbia in May 1999, disabling 70% of that country's power grid. After initial success in disabling Serbian electric power systems, the electric supply was restored in less than 24 hours. The BLU-114/B was again used a few days later to counter Serbian efforts to restore damage caused by the initial attack. In the later stage of Operation Allied Force, NATO's air forces used conventional bombs and rockets to target power highlines and transformer stations.

Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for November 29, 2022

- Western media admits heavy losses by Ukraine around eastern city of Bakhmut;
- Pentagon worries Ukraine is expending more artillery rounds than can be supplied by the West;
- West appears “baffled” over Russia fighting a battle absorbing huge amounts of Ukrainian soldiers’ lives, equipment, and ammunition, despite Moscow declaring “demilitarization” as the first objective of the current special military operation;
- US defense contract Boeing proposes sending 150km long-range rockets for Ukraine’s remaining HIMARS and M270s, but admits production numbers will be small;

cranked trolls these threads and baits you into repetitive, silly exchanges which make the threads unreadable, it is how trolls work and cranked has bragged about his ability to dilute and make threads boring and ineffective by hijacking them.

Start ignoring him.
