Trudeau meeting leaders, community members in James Smith Cree Nation

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $62.5 million in supports over the next six years for James Smith Cree Nation during a visit Monday.

The First Nation in Saskatchewan was rocked by a deadly stabbing rampage nearly three months ago.

The Sept. 4 stabbings left 11 people dead and 18 injured in the community as well as the nearby village of Weldon, Sask., northeast of Saskatoon.

Myles Sanderson, 32, the suspect in the attacks, later died in police custody, bringing the death toll to 12...

...The new funding includes $42.5 million to build a new wellness centre in the community and repurpose the existing Sakwatamo Lodge.

It is also meant to enable James Smith Cree Nation to develop and design programs that best serve the needs of their members, including increasing access to mental health, trauma, and substance use services.

KEYWORDS:
There are 2,412 members of this first nations reserve... The funding amounts to $25,912 per member... This is how Trudeau addresses every delima... He throws money at it like it's coming out of his bank account... But it isn't... It's coming out of taxpayers bank accounts.

Trudeau's phone sincerity is nauseating.

Of course, there will be a slight deduction for the revenue being made from natural resources sales and the casinos

The “First Nations” sure have a buddy in Justin Trudeau.

The drugs and alcohol take their inevitable course leading to violence and death but let’s blame racism instead it’s so cool and send money that will stop it...sarc

Yes I think that's the idea. It would be good if Trudeau could dress up like Big Indian Chief when he turns over the wampum. Maybe share some firewater, and do a rain dance.

There’s something like 600 First Nation “tribes” in Canada. It’s stupid...

Who needs a casino when you can hit the jackpot with a mere stabbing spree?

“Guns are the problem though”

Maybe in Canada not so much.
