Mike Lindell announced his bid to run as chairman of the Republican National Committee on Monday, mounting a challenge to Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, whom he says has “failed” the GOP after the party’s lackluster midterm performance.
His announcement comes just days after the MyPillow CEO hinted at a long-shot bid to run against McDaniel, noting Republicans need someone who “knows how to run a business” at the helm of the party.
“I am 100% running for the RNC chairman against Ronna McDaniel. 100%,” Lindell told Steve Bannon on his show War Room on Monday. “I’m all in, Steve.”
Lindell has become a prominent name among conservative circles due to his unfounded claims of election fraud during the 2020 presidential cycle, attracting a number of lawsuits against him. However, the MyPillow CEO has criticized party leaders such as McDaniel for not taking such claims seriously.
Lindell also cited having widespread support from donors and members of the RNC, noting one donor told him, “‘Mike,’ he said, ‘Everyone wants you to be head of the RNC, some of them just don’t know it yet.’”
“Not only am I going to win, but we are going to — it’s going to change real fast,” Lindell told Bannon. “We’re going to get our country righted real quick.”
The committee is scheduled to elect its next leader during its winter meeting in January. McDaniel has signaled she'd run for reelection, and a letter circulated by about 100 members of the RNC showed they would back her run. When asked to respond to Lindell's challenge, a spokesperson for McDaniel's reelection team referred the Washington Examiner back to this letter, citing the widespread support among the committee.

IMHO he would be an improvement.
Kari Lake
I bet the whole thing was a set-up.
Then again, why did Trump fall for it? That’s the problem.
Oops, wrong thread, sorry.
RNC = Really Not Conservative
But he doesn’t know how these things are done. He could get steamrolled.
Love Mike! He’s built a great company and he’s as MAGA as you can get. However, we all have our place in the GOP body. Having heard Mike many times on TV, I would say respectively, communication skill is not his forte.
He would be an improvement. Changing the momentum in a better direction.
He needs to shut up for a while after his Trump will be reinstated as President debacle and his cyber symposium screw up.
Good grief.
At least he would push the party to fixing election security issues. GOPe ended up looking stupid after the Red Wave midterm never happened maybe they would be more receptive to European style Common Sense ballot control laws.
He raised a bunch of money and actually got people elected, which is precisely what the RNC Chair is supposed to do.
Actually there is probably a livestrem market to see the next RNC Chairman Lee Zeldin smother Mr. Pillow with one of his shitty pillows.
McDaniel is a failure and must go now
Mike would be better off promising $$$ to terminally ill vets or other patriots who have nothing to lose to “take care” of certain enemies, both Republican and Democrat, both foreign and domestic.
“Actually there is probably a livestrem market to see the next RNC Chairman Lee Zeldin smother Mr. Pillow with one of his shitty pillows.”
He spent a fortune of his own money and hung his ass out there. What did you do? Having said that, I agree, he wouldn’t be a good chair.
I agreee. Not fluffy enough and doesnt recline.
