WASHINGTON (AP) — The last conversation Sandra Torres had with her 10-year-old daughter was about her nervous excitement over whether she’d make the all-star softball team. Hours later, Eliahna Torres was one of 19 children and two teachers massacred at their elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

With little closure and few answers about law enforcement’s 77-minute wait on May 24 in the school hallway rather than confronting the gunman, Sandra Torres filed a federal lawsuit on Monday against police, the school district and the maker of the gun the shooter used.

“My baby never made it out of the school,” she said. “There’s no accountability or transparency. There’s nothing being done.”

can’t imagine this woman’s grief... but these parents are quickly snatched up by anti-gun leftist activists who put them up to these kinds of lawsuits.

I assume that is the gunmaker of the perp’s gun. Maybe she wants to give an award to the makers of the guns the LEOs didn't use to stop the perp?

= = =

For her, money and publicity for her cause.

For the lawyers, money.

For the anti-gunners, whom I suspect encourage her, financial and political damage to gun manufacturers.

Next in line — Why not sue the ammo makers???

Depends on whether she seeks a solution or just deep pockets....

If she prefers a solution, then sue those responsible for evicting God and personal responsibility from our culture.

Once you've turned your back on God, you have invited the Devil.

When that is followed by allowing trouble makers to stay in the classroom, because Federal matching dollars are tied to attendance....you get the behavior that you reward.

how about suing the perp? the family that raised him? the liberals that refused to keep him in jail? the liberals who kept the teachers from being able to defend themselves and the children?

Generally, people can’t sue cops for not preventing crime. They might be able to sue these cops for preventing others from taking action though. That would be an interesting argument.

I’m all for this poor woman getting some money any way she can. But, suing the gunmakers has been tried ad nauseum and will get her hopes up for nothing!

Nobody did their job down there except for the two Border Patrol guys who kicked down the fn door and killed the SOB !!

Good grief. Just sue the company who bought the iron that made the gun. The school is responsible for keeping the kids safe when they are there. Sue them.

It promotes the leftist narrative. Who is paying for her lawyer?

They certainly did, but they were right there with the shooter as opposed to being in another room. The patrons did what my school’s teachers have been taught, once he’s in there with you, fight him with whatever comes to hand—at that point you have nothing to loose.

She needs to sue the manufacturer of the security cameras in the school, the manufacturer of the school doors, the manufacturers of the shooter’s clothing, the manufacturer of the vehicle the shooter drove to the school, and everyone else who wasn’t liable.
