TRUMP GETS PLAYED. What is sure to be one of the weirder moments of the 2024 presidential campaign has just taken place before the campaign is even fully underway.
Here is the short version: Just before Thanksgiving, former President Donald Trump had dinner at Mar-a-Lago with Kanye West, Nick Fuentes, and Milo Yiannopoulos. West is the famous rapper, businessman, and reported bipolar disorder patient who says he will run for president in 2024, a campaign he began last month by announcing on Twitter that he was "going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE," a threat that brought him widespread condemnation and the loss of lucrative contracts. Fuentes, who many readers might not have heard of, is a 24-year-old white nationalist self-promoter who has sought publicity and online donations with a long series of racist and antisemitic statements and is now, apparently, working for West's so-called campaign. Yiannopoulos is a 38-year-old British provocateur who has spent a good part of his life doing the same sort of thing that Fuentes does and is now apparently also working for YE24, which is how West, who wants to be known simply as "Ye," refers to his presidential campaign.
What do they have in common? Well, Fuentes and Yiannopoulos are joined in a quest to exploit West's money and fame. But as far as politics is concerned, the greater similarity is that they are all lowlifes who should never be allowed near a former president of the United States, much less a current candidate for president. And yet Trump shared a table at Mar-a-Lago with them. The event quickly leaked because that is precisely what West, Fuentes, and Yiannopoulos intended. The usual suspects in the media and political world immediately denounced Trump.

And? ...
Yes, you’re right. There’s a big difference.
Trump extended a kindness to Ye as a private citizen. In response, Ye unaccountably skitzed out and acted with poor judgment.
Trump’s going to need to respond to this minor patch of turbulence by lacing up his proverbial combat boots and get his re-elect organization in true fighting shape.
The fun’s over.
Hey yo. Where’s the H/T? LOL

Kanye West: I asked Donald Trump to be my 2024 running mate

Go West, ye merry gentlemen.
With Ye’s history?
Meaning, Ye predictably skitzed out?
In or about the ‘90s David Letterman as host of NBC’s Late Night with David Letterman, hilariously shanghaied a pair of New York tourists straight off the bus.
The two proceeded to have their visit to New York be sponsored, imagined, directed, funded, etc. by Letterman, his staff, his writers, etc.
During the fun that day they called Trump’s office, with zero advance notice to Trump or his peolle. Within minutes Trump himself was giving the two tourists an on-camera personal your of his office in Manhattan’s Trump Tower, and maybe even his residence, can’t exactly recall. Trump was as funny and as classy and as friendly as can be.
His fast, off-the-cuff, trusting and friendly response to Kanye was just Trump being Trump. He’s a good guy.
No not from the tweet. The tweet wasn’t even excerpted. I’m saying read the last sentence of the excerpt (from the article). As I said, it’s about you.
I would expect the president of the United States to keep a ‘tight door’, have a staff or assistant(s) who vet people, keep the guest list tight and if “hanger ons” show up, turn them away from the meeting.
This was not done in a professional matter and this stuff matters when you are an executive or running for an executive position.
The president should not meeting before hand with anyone who isn’t pre announced and vetted by his staff. (and of course checked by secret service for security purposes)
This was easily avoidable and even though Kanye is to blame, President Trump is to blame as well for not having some sort of system in place for this. Do you think Obama just meets with anyone or everyone who wants to meet him? I doubt it.
I was in Plains, Ga earlier this year. Thought I’d drive by Carter’s house. The whole street he lives in is off limits. There’s a Secret Service compound at the street entrance. Trump had none of that in the 90’s. And those people certainly didn’t have the anti-Semitic baggage of Ye, which is widely known.
I truly hope all things are about me. I’m selfish that way. The Examiner has traditionally been Trump friendly. Maybe he’s jumped the shark & they’ve moved on.
You’re right, again.
Trump can’t have it both ways.
Seem’s like he’s fighting it, but Trump’s renewed private life needs to grind to a halt again. For the next 2 years at least.
Biden makes ‘poor choices’ from OUR perspective all the time. The difference is the press is on his side.
He gets bad press. Going into the mid-terms, they had pretty much trashed him and was holding him responsible for the upcoming red wave…….that became a trickle. Even the laptop has been top of mind. If you’re glued to right leaning media, you’ll see/hear nothing of it.
Early in the 20th century, Theodore Roosevelt, a Republican, invited Booker T. Washington, a black educator, to dinner at the White House.
Of course, the racist media, went wild.
Nothing changes...
The Democrats were racist BEFORE the Civil War.
DURING the Civil War.
AFTER the Civil War
DURING Reconstruction
AFTER Reconstruction
DURING Jim Crow
And yet, Republicans are racist ????
What am I missing ?
Good Heavens, enough already. What the hell is wrong with you people?
