Republicans appear to have defended every U.S. House seat they won in California in 2020, despite determined Democratic efforts to take them back.
The last undecided race in the nation, the contest in the newly-created 13th district in the Central Valley, Republican farmer John Duarte appeared to hold a narrow lead of several hundred votes over Assemblyman Adam Gray (D-Merced), such that some analysts were ready to call the race.

Getting better at ballot harvesting
What about ballot harvesting in California?
Let’s hope so. It is legal in California, so why the hell not? I’m glad we got the house. I would’ve been happy with one seat majority I’m glad we got five. The point is to have the majority for committees and other stuff. I think it’s funny media’s making a big deal about how close we are in numbers when all we did was change the party. In 2020, Democrats at 222 and 2022 Republicans have 222. the narrative certainly isn’t the same with the media.
“all we did was change the party. In 2020, Democrats at 222 and 2022 Republicans have 222. the narrative certainly isn’t the same with the media.”
Correct—the mass media is so agenda driven they can’t figure out the difference between a house cat and Bigfoot.
"...By winning elections, ma'am. If you can keep them."
Just means he made a deal.
The Rats own the state now with Mexican “votos” and the Republican opposition is only for show.
The House margin is likely to be 222, the same as Pelosi’s after 2020.
But keep an eye on scandals to force Republican House members to abruptly resign, etc.
We have to get through the choosing of the Speaker and the revamping of the rules for the coming Congress. Then the table will be set.
Of course not. Now that the Republicans control the House, you can expect LGBTQs to sent to camps, womyn to be forced out of the work force and back into kitchens and daily draggings of blacks down main town roads behind pickup trucks. Those are completely different kinds of stories!
I used to think that was exaggeration. But seeing the media, the last 10 years, maybe even 20, those examples you gave are spot on. It’s disgusting what the media has become.
Exactly.
In 2018, Republicans stood by slack-jawed as Democrats used ballot harvesting to flip several seats in California.
In 2020 and 2022, Republicans learned and used the same trick to flip seats back.
Cooked up scandals are definitely what’s coming.
But more important is solidarity. Pelosi’s mafia intimidation/extortion tactics on her own gang worked. They never defected in any significant numbers on a vote that mattered.
Don’t see McCarthy as having anything like that clout.
Their objective ought to be to take every precinct that doesn’t touch the ocean.
Most Latin people are usually conservative. As happened in Florida they are seeing the democrats for who they really are and the Latins are starting to vote republican. Many of them came from communist countries and know better than to vote for the communists and their promises. It’s a slow transition but those that are already here don’t want to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of migrants.
2 House seats were flipped to R in AZ, (2 of the 9 flipped nationally).... yet we lose the Senate and Gov races?
No ballot harvesting in California and New York because they are so secure, there was no need.
It PROVES that this was a wave election year that was stopped by ballot harvesting in red/purple states.
Otherwise, the GOP would not have made gains in NY and California.
Candidate quality matters.
We needed 3 because 2 of the impeachment traitors are still there.
Two weeks after election day and this race still has not been officially decided?!
Our voting system is beyond repair - thanks to Dems, a corrupt judiciary, and do-nothing Republicans.
