Alaska’s lengthy and convoluted election process is set to come to an end on Wednesday when Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) and Rep. Mary Peltola (D) are likely to finally emerge as the winners — largely thanks to the state’s new ranked-choice system.
The Alaska Division of Elections will reveal the final unofficial results on Wednesday night.
Murkowski leads Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka by less than 1,700 votes — 43.3 percent to 42.7 percent.
In the House contest, Peltola holds a commanding lead, with 48.7 percent support over Republicans Sarah Palin at 25.8 percent and Nick Begich at 23.4 percent.

Alaska set to announce results from ‘corrupt’ ranked choice system
Gee, Alaska also has early voting and mail-in...
And get a load of this from last month...
I’ll just bet it is.
This is just a scheme to ensure that the Murkowski Cartel remains in power. And, seems to be working….
This is just a scheme to ensure that the Murkowski Cartel remains in power. And, seems to be working….
why is any postage required........
Likely because Deep State want to discourage people from voting.
They’re giving it to their wicked and ditzy Frozen Ice Queen. Counting votes is just too complicated for them.
The GOP needs to throw the Alaskan mole’s ass out of the Party. She is not a Republican. She always votes with the RATS. That makes her a RAT.
Ranked Choice Voting is a Leftist construct.
Period.
Although you see a majority of Leftists pushing it, along with people with “(R)” after their name pushing it (RINOS) you will NEVER see a conservative back it.
Conservatives understand that, beyond it being something pushed by the Left to further their candidates, it is confusing to most people.
You ask about voting in traditional fashion, even sluggishly un-adroit people can clearly explain it to you.
You vote for who you want with a mark next to the name. The person with the most marks, wins.
Not complicated.
I guarantee you-if you went up to the average person on the street (not just the “sluggishly un-adroit” and ask them about Ranked Choice Voting-you are going to get an incomprehensible word salad from most people, because they don’t fully understand it.
Conservatives understand that the more complicated the process is, the more rife it is with unexpected mechanisms and outcomes, not to mention vulnerable to fraud and misdirection.
I will guarantee if you asked 100 people at random, you might find five people at most who could explain Ranked Choice Voting in an accurate way.
It is an abomination.
How did Alaska end up with this corrupt system?
So we lost the Senate so Mitch could save Murky.
Ranked-Choice is nothing more that institutionalized voter fraud.
If Murkowski is reelected, it’s Skank-Choice..............
They had a referendum and it narrowly won. Soros poured zillions into it, supposedly.
WHERE were the conservative lawyers challenging the referendum in the courts, since it's supposed to be LEGISLATURES that determine election law?
Who invented this voting scheme? It’s beyond absurd. It’s like requiring voters to complete a NY Times crossword puzzle to cast a vote.
Peltola obviously won b/c the Republican vote was split - due to the ranked voting system.
This is why the RATS are pushing it so hard on other states.
Republicans had better learn to deal with this quickly otherwise Democrats will use this system to split votes on everything.
The Democrats propose it.
They partner with Republicans like Murkowski to present and pass it.
And there it is. “Bi-partisan Voting Reform”.
Tah-Dah!
Alaska set to announce results from ‘confusing’ ranked choice system
—
A voting system that cannot be easily explained is a voting system subject to corruption and tampering.
Having two Republicans run in the same race is probably the dumbest idea ever. Two people whose ego took over. that’s the worst part about the whole ordeal.
