Ukraine Evacuates Civilians as Temperatures Drop

Ukraine is bracing for a brutal winter as Russian missile strikes have damaged nearly half of the country’s electrical grid, according to Kyiv, potentially leaving millions of people without heating while temperatures plummet.

As many as 10 million Ukrainians do not have power as a result of Russia’s bombardment, Ukrainian officials have warned, while rolling blackouts and water supply shortages have become commonplace across the country. In recently liberated Kherson, some people are now collecting wood for heat in lieu of a stable power supply.

There is plenty of gas in Europe, and oil prices are falling. Russian oil is selling for 30% less now than its peak price.

The Ukrainians have already had that experience. Russians shipped hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to the Siberian forests where they froze to death in 1939 and 1940.

Do you realize that your belief was shown to be incorrect the day that Russia seized Crimea, and really shown to be idiotic when Russia invaded Ukraine in February.

Why did Russia try to annex parts of Ukraine in August if they did not have any "ideas of expansion"?
