The suspect in the deadly shooting at a Colorado LGBTQ nightclub allegedly used anti-gay slurs — and chillingly said that “it’s not the gun you’ve got to be afraid of, it’s the people,” a neighbor said.
Xavier Kraus told the Daily Beast that Anderson Lee Aldrich enjoyed going with his mother, Laura Voepel, to a range where “rapid fire” was permitted.
Kraus said he spoke with Aldrich about the dangers of firearms, but he replied: “It’s not the gun you’ve got to be afraid of, it’s the people.”
He said Aldrich “had this idea that we would go out at some point to a range and he [would] teach me some gun safety and go out and shoot some target practice.”
“We never ended up getting around to do that. But that conversation just kind of sits with me, because I know how I felt when I saw the gun and he showed it to me. He was like, ‘This is all legal. I’m totally allowed to have this.’ It was an assault-rifle type gun,” Kraus told the outlet.

As to the “rapid fire”goofiness, the range I’ve gone to forbids firing without >2 seconds between rounds. A bit annoying if I am trying to figure out how to cope with recoil and get back on target.

This nut had tried to blow up his own parents not long ago. He should of been in jail, but liberals let him out and let this happen.

At one point they say: “He is believed to have used an AR-15-style rifle in the rampage, officials said.” Officials supposedly have the gun. What was it??? Maybe not AR-15 and as such doesn’t fit narrative?
Yet the article also says: “Richard Fierro talks during a news conference outside his home about is efforts to subdue the gunman.” I would think a US Vet would know what type of gun he TOOK FROM THE GUNMAN since he is being credited with disarming the gunman.
If the weapon was an AR-15 don’t you think “officials” would have said just that the SAME NIGHT OF THE SHOOTING? Waiting only proves this does not match narrative.
Who’s more to blame, an overly permissive justice system that allows dangerous whack jobs to continue to roam the streets, or some white dude in a MAGA hat?
I figure that is an even chance that neighbor Xavier Kraus was put on the FBI payroll within the last 48 hours and was told what to say. But you’ll never know that because “sources and methods” are always redacted.

Just a couple of nights ago TCM broadcast THE BOYS IN THE BAND, which I have still never seen. I am glad I did not misread it as THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL, a completely different movie.

Anybody over 50 who has NOT used an “anti-gay slur” in their lifetime?
I am still going with the theory that the shooter was previously rejected in a homosexual flirtation at that bar and came back for revenge.
But does not fit with The Narrative(tm), so perhaps "we will never really know the motivation of the shooter", as they say when facts do not fit their preferred conclusions.
I didn't see any MAGA references in the article. In fact, there was no discussion of political ideology at all.
There was homophobia in the article and a reference to a bomb threat against his mother.
But the silence regarding political beliefs is deafening.

It was chambered for 22LR. The police are trying to be accurate without blowing up the narrative. They could have said it was a 22 rifle....but that doesn’t scare the N95 off of a snowflake.

I’ve heard it was a .22 LR AR variant. That could account for the “long rifle” nonsense that’s been reported, but with the current state of journalism, who knows?
