Thank you! The repairman is supposed to be here between 9 and noon in the morning. HURRAH! I only got up once in the night to turn the heater on and open the garage door. They are both working now, and will once more before I go to bed. With the outside temp up to 34, I may not do a night run.
And good luck with yours as well. When is your vet friend coming to do the crawling under the house?
And thanks to both of you for your service to our country.
That sounds pretty good, especially the fun reading part. It’s been a while since you just sat back and relaxed a while. Felt good, didn’t it? :-)
Probably not...LOL!!
Are you lounging on the beach?
Nah, cooking dinner. Sunset about now.
Our skin has suffered too many decades of beach and sun, we limit that these days. Old bones do like the warmth, but not the feeling of being behind enemy lines.
Howdy, luvie.
How was your day?
Getting excited as the time approaches to head out to see the kids?
Hey there, radu!
Yes, I am getting excited to see the kids, but, of course, dreading that long 7-hour drive. I do stop a lot along the way, though. Unlike my hubby, who would try to drive straight through without any pit stops. LOL! Aaaaand, that’s why I drive.
It was cold and cloudy here today. I think it managed to get up to about 43 and right now, it’s 37. Ten degrees warmer than you are. LOL! I’ll bet you stayed at home today, huh!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank your for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Hope the big snow storm is behind you now. Stay warm!
It IS a long drive but it is oh so worth it. :-)
I hope the rain showers in that part of the state move out so you have a pleasant drive.
You got that right. I went nowhere today. It was windy as well as cold and I wanted no part of it. I had enough cold, biting wind yesterday on the mountain.
Just checked front and back...no signs of rain. THANK GOODNESS!!
And I got the downstairs up to 64 degrees! I’ll give it one more hour of heat later this evening, and maybe skip the middle of the night trek downstairs.
Then anxiously await the repair man!
Yay! You did get lucky! There was plenty of freezing rain elsewhere around the city and several wrecks.
It looks like the clouds are trying to break up a little but there’s another large batch of wet coming up from the SE. Whether it all makes it over the mountains remains to be seen. Glad it’s up there and not down here! Bad enough we’re colder than you are tonight. LOL It’s already down to 21 and it’s not through dropping. BRRRR
bttt
It IS worth it! I think it’s supposed to be relatively clear on Tuesday, but a small shower wouldn’t be too bad. Maybe wash my dirty car. LOL!
I can’t believe that your temperatures have been colder than Anchorage AKs. That’s unreal! Of course, they’ll win the cold prize in the end [we can only hope], but it is strange.
I’ve hiked and hunted in the upper Cumberland Plateau area where Alvin C. York grew up and lived out his life. The woods up there is special with a deep wonderful mossy aroma. Every sizeable creek creates a gorge in the limestone. Besides Pall Mall and other towns associated with York, the author of Tom Brown School Days, Thomas Hughes, founded Rugby, Tennessee as an ideal community. Fentress County (York country) and east to Scott County and its Big South Fork area are worth a visit for people who enjoy day hikes in the sweet woods.
GLAD IT’S STABILIZED. MY BUDDY WILL BE HERE WEDNESDAY. WE SHOULD BE MUCH WARMER BY THEN. IT’S A NASTY JOB.
“And thanks to both of you for your service to our country.”
I APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT, AND I DON’T MEAN TO BE A HARD BUTT, BUT, I HAVE TO REPLY AS I DO TO ALL, WHO WITH ERNEST GRATITUDE, SAY THE SAME, “NO THANKS ARE NECESSARY. IT WAS THE HONOR OF MY LIFE.” I DO NOT ADD, “NOBODY SHOULD BE THANKED FOR DOING THEIR DUTY!”...(I GUESS I AM A HARD BUTT. YOU’D BE SURPRISED HOW MANY VETS FEEL AS I DO...AT LEAST MY GUYS. I WISH YOU’D HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN I GOT HOME. I KNOW YOU AND EVERYBODY ELSE MEANS WELL, AND I APPRECIATE THAT, BUT I’D AS SOON NEVER HEAR THAT PHRASE AGAIN...THAT’S JUST ME.)
I HAVE TO GET A NEW PHONE TOMORROW, WHICH IS A MAJOR PITA!
I COME FROM THAT BRANCH OF THE HUMAN FAMILY THAT ONLY ACCEPTED FIRE THREE GENERATIONS AGO!
KEEP THE FAITH
Good evening, luvie...he sure was. He had to fight with himself, but DID honor his military obligation and did it to the best of his ability.
Welcome to the Canteen, linMcHlp...
That rain system is supposed to give us rain Thursday through the weekend so maybe it’ll be out of your way by the time you leave.
It isn’t the first time we’ve been colder than Anchorage. At least it isn’t prolonged cold like theirs. It makes me shiver a little when I see Lake Hood frozen over. LOL
