Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva has taken aim at liberals in his county after being ousted from office in last week's election.
Villanueva, who won office in 2018 on the back of a tough-on-crime platform, was beaten by former Long Beach police chief Robert Luna, whom he accused of being a "puppet" of the liberal movement....
...Villanueva, also a Democrat, says Luna was elected by the far left who wanted a defund-the-police puppet in office who will end up destroying law and order....

Another nice read on the subject...
Surpriae! This is the end result of changing immigration law in 1965 and importing dark skinned people from the third world.
Embrace the suck, LA.
Shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
No, I’m not.
The vote counters trump the voters again.
That seems to be the plan.
Villanueva is right, he pushed back on
the insane policies...The Democrats want a puppet..Stupid people voted for measure A which would give the board of supervisors the power to get rid of the sheriff who is an elected official.
A new mayor that wants to defund the police and allow criminals to practice their chosen profession, a New Sheriff that believes in the same and a DA that also believes criminals should be allowed to be criminals.
I Love a good Suicide, and this one will be epic!!
The only way to cure LA’s problem now would be to cut off the water. No water, no LA.
They have corruption in LA? How can you tell?
If you read the article, it’s about money, ads, media. In other words, a political campaign. Theirs was bigger.
Another election denying democrat.
IIRC, he has been a good Sheriff.
He can probably relocate to another area with lower cost of living & more support from the citizens
The sheriff is right, you are absolutely right and I didn’t know until your post there was a ballot measure making the sheriff appointed. You made me remember, the ijit voters in King County, Washington-part of the 3 county abomination known as-Pugetopolis, did the exact same thing in 2020 when they voted to amend their County Charter to the County Council/County Executive appointing the office of sheriff. https://ballotpedia.org/King_County,_Washington,_Charter_Amendment_5,_Return_Sheriff_to_an_Appointed_Position_Measure_(2020)
They did this during the mass insanity lock-down and they got exactly what they deserve. https://kingcounty.gov/council/mainnews/2022/May/5-24-Patti-Cole-Tindall-confirmed-sheriff-king-county.aspx
FYI-look how they worded the Charter Amendment. As an initiative State, the State Attorney General’s Office writes those ballot questions, not the initiative authors. The state AG always wordsmith’s any conservative initiatives that by the time you look at the statements a yes vote means no and visa versa. Many times initiative authors have to do last minute PR campaigns to explain how to vote if you’re a supporter.
It looks like for some, wordsmything isn’t necessary. Fools. Didn’t they also elect Karen Bass? I’m sorry.
California west Cuba
Heard him on Jon & Ken’s show the other day after he’d lost the election.
He said political advisors told him in this town he could either uphold law-and-order or get re-elected, not both.
He said Luna left Long Beach a complete mess.
LOL, too late! Water has already been cut off.
We are down to being allowed to water once a week during the winter months. Haven’t seen the water police go by, but will - and have in the past.
This as I see large condo complexes and apartment building going up in my very dry city. The rep from the Water dept. even lied to the city council that there was enough water for all the new development.
Doesn’t matter: SB 35, from Sacramento, is making sure mass Section 8 projects and “housing for the homeless” are built in your once-nice neighborhood.
“Surpriae! This is the end result of changing immigration law in 1965”
Without pain, the Angelenos will never learn why the POPO needs to kick some butts.
Oh goodie now the county board of supervisors will not have a new sheriff to push around
