The results of a local election in a major Georgia county have been reversed after officials discovered a memory card with hundreds of uncounted votes on it.
Madelyn Orochena was originally declared the victor of a race for a seat on the Kennesaw City Council in Cobb County,
"Looking forward to me being sworn in on Monday," she said at the time, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Yet 24 hours later, Orochena got a call from the county's Board of Elections about a memory card from one of the precincts had not been uploaded, the network reported.
The results were reportedly re-certified on Friday.
County Elections Director Janine Eveler said the uncounted votes on the memory card "changed the outcome" of the race, with Orochena's competitor, Lynnette Burnette, coming in first by 31 votes.
Fox News reported that Orochena called the incident "shameful" and claimed that "our faith in our governing bodies continues to fail."

Rule 2, not this time.
Well, then clearly the card was supposed to be ‘lost’.

Agreed.
PS
I believe proper ballot-handling is called the "chain of custody."
Investigate the special council.

There is NO such thing as "non partisan"...
Re hand count:
SUPERVISED, live television count…
Or a server in Beijing.
Actually looks like a bad case of Pubbie corruption:

Transmit the votes instantly to a Mastercard-run server farm capable of processing billions of transactions, and produce the results immediately after the local polls close.

No.
We need paper ballots.
France outlawed mail-in ballots decades ago.
They conduct their entire national election on election day with paper ballots and have the results that evening.
The only reason you wouldn’t do it that way is because it makes fraud too difficult.
It used to be that piles of votes were found in the trunks of cars, in cartons behind the Xerox machine, or stashed in a broom closet.
It’s so much easier to cheat now.
The movie business is on the other side of town. Cobb is on the north side, Fayette county (where the movie business is) is on the south side.
Fayette is still solidly red.
Cobb’s shift to blue can’t be blamed on movie credits.
Orochina wanted to prevent a civil war confederate and some Yankee type goods store that had been in business in Kennesaw since the early ‘70s from reopening after the owner died because she was offended by merchandise offered. Glad to see her lose. A petty tyrant in the making. BTW it reopened in spite of jackasses like her.
Yes, some offices are listed as non-partisan, but experience has shown me that they are anything but. Look no further than school boards.
Yes, I am well aware.
The question was about why party was not mentioned.
This could very well have been between Wokester 1 and wokester 2.
Sounds good to me!
Where do the employee’s live?
Hollywood imported values are spread all over Metro ATL because their trash employees live there
There is a reason I left Cobb in 2010. I saw it changing to the shithole I left in CA.
