“ Party discipline. How do we get rid of McConnell?”
What do you mean, “we”?
Many in our government treat Machiavelli’s words as gospel.
“Daines... the Chinese “Montana” Senator.”
True. My close fried Greg did something similar while working for Continental Grain. Family in Taiwan and he spent lots of time in China. Food is a BIG business.
Greg is ESPECIALLY conservative as is Daines, whom I know personally as well as his father.
Let’s see how he does...
The GOP is useless…
The turtle did not fund MAGA candidates…they were out spent three to one…
Scott was a Trump supporter….
we = conservatives and other patriots.
Nice response.
S. Security needs fixing; but it is like yanking someone out of the path of a speeding vehicle just in the nick of time, only to get sued for all you’re worth after giving him whiplash.
S. Security is pretty well doomed to go over the cliff; and it’s a radioactive topic politically. There are some sensible solutions that are possible in theory, but not in practical politics.
So yeah — it’s a great idea to announce ways to save S. Security by cutting benefits or increasing working people’s contributions. That way you can prevent the election of 50-60 good candidates whose opponents campaign by scaring voters by broad-brushing your proposal with half-truths. It’s a 100% guaranteed losing issue.
So, the Repub senate is going to do the same thing again and expect different results, eh? Ah, the definition of insanity. Call me when they get a real man or woman for their senate leader. McSpongeface is neither. No wait, that means...he’s a trannie! He had a party change and he’s even fuglier than before.
Think I’m a fool?
“oh, not at all. Please send a donation ASAP so we can fight the Democrats and get good people elected! Help us and we will match your contributions 1000X to one.” /s
Excellent news! Rick Scott stupidly decided it was a good idea to announce cuts to Medicare and Social Security right before the midterm election. I don’t care if he wants to do it or not. You don’t mention it before an election. I’m not sure who he was trying to impress, but it certainly wasn’t the voters. Good riddance. I hope Matt Gates runs for his seat in 2024. I will vote for any Republican in the primary that doesn’t have a last name is Scott.
“Something DOES have to be done with SS an Medicare.”
I have agreed about this for decades. And I, too, hate AARP w/ a passion; they simply won’t allow the fix, no matter how sensible.
My only point about Scott’s proposal is that he managed to make (R) candidates radioactive when the (D) candidates used guilt by association.
Honestly, no need to add. And, you did pretty damn good with that list. You are spot on.
You are so right. Just take the win and turn off the juice to the deadly third rail.
Honestly, I hope not. Governor Beshear is ready to replace him in an instant.
Not to worry. The state of Kentucky will probably elect a future senator Breshear to take his place.
Florida can do much better. We have some awesome candidates that can easily replace him and we will be better off for it.
You write, “Party discipline. How do we get rid of McConnell?”
Start a new party!
Yes. Social Security and Medicare need to be taken care of but not before a damn midterm election. I’m sure that by 2036, the Democrats will tax all income with the Social Security tax in order to keep it solvent. Not to worry. Lol.
Sen. Rick Scott is the real deal.Hes a former business man and excellent gov. of Fla. I have had the pleasure of meeitn him a number of times and his take is to fund those who do well in govt. agencies. those that don’t get minimum funding. He’s a brilliant guy and knows his stuff. Far too good for the batch of slime that is in the senate.
Meet me in Kentucky 2026! We can stay with kinfolk.
