Mitch McConnell's behavior has been reprehensible. He refused to support GOP candidates who could have helped Republicans win control of the Senate. He is funding an internecine battle between GOP candidates in Alaska, favoring RINO Lisa Murkowski over conservative Kelly Tshibaka. The Turtle is the swampiest of the swamp creatures. He even has shadowy ties to Communist China.
But sometimes politics requires making deals with bad people. Sometimes politics, for all its sordid nature, can offer a path to redemption.
McConnell has a narrow pathway to go from zero to hero. He can once again thrust himself into position as GOP champion and help himself in the process.
First, he must immediately throw all of his support, all of his funding and all of his arm-twisting, favor-calling-in influence behind the Georgia runoff campaign of Herschel Walker. This would cut against McConnell's nature. Walker is a Trump protégé, and McConnell hates and works to undermine everything Trump stands for, which is why this act would be such an unexpected gesture and a credit in Mitch's favor.
Herschel Walker has a good chance to win. He has great name recognition. Most votes siphoned off by the Libertarian candidate should go to him. He faces a weak and tainted opponent.
However, a win in Georgia would get the GOP only back to a 50/50 tie in the Senate. With Kamala Harris as the president of the Senate voting to resolve ties in the Democrats' favor, a GOP victory in Georgia is big but still not big enough.
To earn full redemption, McConnell must facilitate a win in Georgia and then must complete a second labor of penance. He must flip Joe Manchin from Democrat to Republican. A win for Walker combined with turning Manchin will put the Senate under Republican control.

It’s bad.
He should’ve come out 12 years ago
.
Slitting his wrists is his only path to redemption for me.
Slitting his wrists is his only path to redemption for me.
He’s more likely to walk on water than do what the author suggests.
The American Thinker isn’t thinking here. McConnnell is a snake and a traitor and a criminal, stuffing his pockets with special interest money just like Pelosi, Feinstein, Schumer, et al. from enemies of America. If this SOB keeps his position, along with Rona ROMNEY McDaniels, NOTHING will change and he will work with RINOs and DemocRats in BOTH Houses to keep us on the road to globalism.
I will NEVER give him amnesty.
Mitch needs to be gone. His presence has become a huge detriment.
McConnell needs to be reprimanded by the Republican Party and the various state Republican Parties for his crusade against MAGA candidates.
Good question.
God has redeemed him.
He hasn’t really fought for us.
Why would we leave him in there, after his and Ryan’s
performance from 2017 through 2019, and beyond.
He needs to shuffle on off the stage.
Why isn’t Hunter Biden in Supermax yet?
Nope. He’s past redemption because he has proved he cannot be trusted.
“How GAY is Lindsey? “
The name is LINDA.
Funny thing my oldest daughter is named Lindsey.
He could go hunting with Liz Cheney’s dad.
Their MO is to turn their backs on their voters right after an election. Voters are hyper-sensitized right now to how the "red wave" was stolen. If they suspect that the Republicans in the Senate are happy with the outcome, if they suspect that the Senate Republicans are working with the Democrats to pass their agenda instead of fighting and obstructing at each and every opportunity, then support for President Trump will grow like a wildfire.
People say that Trump can't control his impulses. Well, the same can be said for our Senate Republicans. Let's watch and see if they reach out to their base to explain what happened and how they're changing it for next time, or see if they go back to business as usual without another thought about what just happened. I'm betting on the latter.
It will be Mitch Mconnell and Lindsey Graham who drive the voters back to President Trump.

Mitch is not going to do any of that.
Yup.
