WASHINGTON — Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) will challenge Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for the post of minority leader when the conference holds leadership elections.
Scott, 69, announced he would stand against McConnell, 80, during a closed-door lunch for Senate Republicans on Tuesday and formally announced his intention on social media hours later...
The status quo is broken and big change is needed,” tweeted Scott, a former Florida governor. “It’s time for new leadership in the Senate that unites Republicans to advance a bold conservative agenda.
“That’s why I’m running to be the Senate Republican Leader.”
McConnell did not seem unduly concerned by Scott’s challenge, telling reporters that “we had a rather lengthy and fulsome discussion, not only of the election, but the way forward.”

I will give credit to Mitch for pushing through a lot of conservative judges to confirmation. But failure to support GOP Senate candidates is awful. I can’t help but think Senators will remember Mitch pulls the rug out from under people who are not his people.

Rick Scott is fine as a Senator but we need someone else as the leader. At least the Turtle knows how Washington works and he was good with judges.
If that talking turd gets re-elected, it’s time to get serious about getting a real conservative party instead of the toilet bowl that managed to eff up this election.

Mitch is in a position where he grants favors, adds senators pet projects to bills, covers for, etc., and thereby can call in almost every senator to pay back. That’s why he has such a confident smirk on his face.
And that’s why I favor electing leadership for the next Congress by the next Congress in 2023.

How did that work out for us?
90% of Republicans think they should have the leadership votes AFTER the newly elected Congress is seated. But they don’t give a shit what we think. I wish Trump would have announced a third party run.
Scott had to come out with ‘let’s get rid of Medicare and Social Security” before the midterm. That seemed to have changed a lot of voters minds. It was a stupid thing to do. no reason for it. no bill. no ability for it to pass. It was just dumb.
McConnell controlled the money and mostly used the Senate PAC as his personal piggy bank to support his candidates.
He is weak. But McConnell is evil. Expertly so. Prying evil genius McConnell away from the levers of power would be WELL WORTH having to stomach a relatively inept GOP Leader.
That being said, do I think Scott has a chance to win against the Mitch Cabal in the Senate? Not bloody likely.
Will he be repaying the $2.5 million dollars in stolen money from FTX?
