I don’t think he is a stooge, just wrong and then doubling down on it instead of backing down. He did have some good predictions leading up to the invasion, but since then greatly overestimates Russia and underestimated Ukraine.

The Ukrainians have:
1. Stopped the attack on Kiev and forced a Russian withdrawal back to the border.
2. Drove the Russians back from Karkov
3. Liberated a large chunk of land South of Karkov.
4. Liberated Kherson and forced a Russian withdrawal well back from the Dineper in the South.
5. Inflicted significant losses to the Russian Black Sea Fleet
6. Prevented the Russians from getting Air superiority despite superior numbers of aircraft.
7. Inflicted serious losses of Russian personnel, equipment, and commanders
All the Russians have done in return is to lob a bunch of drones and missiles at Ukraine. Inflicting damage, but nothing that can’t be repaired.
By any rational measure the Ukrainians are winning.
