I see this as a strategic retreat to a more defensible / supply position. Still a win for Ukraine, but not D-Day.

That's certainly one way to look at it.

BUT....another is that it is absolutely genius. So, the Ruskies leave the city, and days later a few Ukes go in and claim liberation and victory in the press. The most important part of that sentence is "in the press."

Zelensky then makes these outlandish, fairytale, and bogus claims in order to fleece more $$$$$ from me and you -- which he does with great success.

Maybe it is not delusional -- maybe it's brilliance. That is for as long as the money continues to flow. After the money stops and Ukraine is flattened, he escapes to one of his villas around the world, and the common people/deplorables (me and you) are left holding the bag -- like FTX crypto.

The Russian’s were forced out, and the Ukrainians entered in force after they left.

the Ukrainians now have recon units with minimal resistance across the Dnieper. The Russians appear to be retreating to new defensive positions well South and East of Kherson.

It’s a big win, no matter how you slice it.
