Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Monday slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for “abandoning” GOP nominee Blake Masters in the Arizona Senate race, accusing him of putting personal politics over the needs of the party.
Cruz is among a handful of GOP senators who have called to postpone the Senate Republican leadership elections scheduled for Wednesday. “Abandoning Blake Masters was indefensible,” Cruz said on his podcast, “Verdict,” referring to a decision by the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC affiliated with McConnell, to pull out of the Arizona Senate race.
Asked why the McConnell-allied group pulled out of the race, Cruz said it was because Masters vowed during the primary not to support McConnell for another term as leader.

McConnell is polling at 7% favorable now, right above Ted Bundy I believe.

I can tell you that we were absolutely bombarded with that little troll kelly's "I was an astronaut, you know" commercials on radio and TV for months. I don't recall seeing one Blake Masters promo for the whole election cycle.
Also I could count the number of campaign signs on both hands with a few fingers left over.
He was on his own.

There are R’s, and then there are R’s.
Cocaine Mitch wants the squishy pliable kind. Blake was simply to dangerous to Mitche’s safe sinecure, and therefor had to be submarined.
But Cruz isn’t wrong. This failure needs to be laid to rest at the current Republican establishment’s feet. They try to blame Trump, but it’s not going to work.

Eh.
Masters was clear and unambiguous that the Senate Republicans needed new leadership.
I don’t disagree with that, but he was delusional if he thought that McConnell would then open the money spigot. Not gonna happen.

Mitch’s hissy fit cost us the Senate. It doesn’t affect him one iota, but the REST of us get screwed. The check from the CCP must have cleared, as well.

The most egregious part of it is that Mitch didn't pull out of Arizona to send the money to a competetive fight like Fetterman v Oz in PA or Warnock v Walker in GA, he sent it to Alaska to fund one side of a two-person race in which both people were republicans! It's a guaranteed seat and he prioritized spending there vice spending where it might have made a difference.
He wanted two things: to not win the Senate and to make sure he had total loyalty. He got the first but we're seeing that his Machiavellian moves have resulted in some cracks to the loyalty part.

McConnell needs to go, that is 100% for certain.
I really detest the guy.
On the other hand, was it really necessary for Blake Masters to trash McConnell and go on record to say he would not work with the McConnell if elected.
This was a critical election and maybe we could have closed ranks a bit and concentrated on taking the fight to the Democrats.
Ronny Raygun’s 11th Commandment applies to Republicans you don't really like just as much as it does to those we like.
McConnell has really let us down over the years but Americans owe Cocaine Mitch a great debt of gratitude for his hard line on judges and many other places where he has stood in the breach over the years.
Pains me to give the guy his due, but that's the honest truth.
