Is it true that McConnell tanked Senate races by not funding candidates like Masters?

McConnell funded any candidate that Trump did not endorse. Time to replace the Mc’s; McConnell, McCarthy and McDaniel.

When Graham brought up a federal abortion ban, I thought - this is a political dud, but maybe it will blow over. As it turns out, it did not.

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/midterm-election-results-livestream-voting-11-08-2022/h_699c5119bda0136d831b855919299e1b
[For voters who thought that abortion was the most important issue, more than three quarters supported Fetterman. They made up just over one-third of the electorate.

But among those who said inflation was the most pressing issue, more than three-quarters cast ballots for Oz. They made up more than a quarter of the electorate.]

Between Graham’s abortion trial balloon and Rick Scott’s floating of an eligibility age increase and means testing for Social Security, I think we have the core reasons for the red ripple. Trump’s choice of candidates unsuited to their electorates did not help, but that alone doesn’t explain the fairly unimpressive performance of so many GOP incumbents, FL excluded.

Some time before the election, a left winger talked about how he noticed incredible intensity among Democratic voters about abortion. I was skeptical then. It appears he was right, and we were wrong.

Yes. Steven Miller explained it well on Bartiromo’s show this morning.

It was election fraud that prevented the Red Wave from winning, for the Red Wave was real and it existed. The GOPe just refuses to fight the election fraud.

Well, it will cost them personally in the end. For when the Democrats become the only party left, they will begin to charge them all for the crimes they are currently being blackmailed for, while those not being blackmailed the Democrats will just make up lies about them. Like all truth currently being suppressed by the press, the same will be the case regarding their cries as to what the Democrats have done, when their arrests begin to happen. They win, and truth , freedom, & honesty become the deceased is the evil world that will follow.

It would be news to most that Trump did not endorse Laxalt, Vance, Oz or Bolduc, all of whom McConnell funded, to the tune of over $100m. Trump’s total contribution to senate races was $15m, out of the $161m he raised. In fact, most of the candidates Trump endorsed, he provided little or no money to, unless you consider a gathering of rabid fans to see him speak a political donation.

Is anyone on this thread aware that a very large margin of the folks Trump supported won?

So many experts out-thinking Trump because they are smarter.

He spent less on his campaign against Hillary too. Remember?

So tired of having to think for people.

Masters was clear and unambiguous that he would not support McConnell as Majority Leader. Of course McConnell was not going to help as much! Why is that surprising?

SOP for the Republican establishment. They regularly protect Democrats by declaring certain seats as unwinnable. Then they prove they are unwinnable by refusing to support candidates who run for these seats.

You keep repeating that when the fact is most of these were formalities where the candidates were incumbents in safe red states or districts. The ones that were marginal - Trump lost the majority of them. Joe Kent in WA lost a House seat the previous GOP incumbent had won by 13 points. Trump is directly responsible for the loss of that seat because he urged voters to oust that incumbent in the GOP primary in favor of Kent.

Trump endorsed Masters in the AZ Senate primary, knocking aside AZ AG Brnovich, who had actually previously won a statewide election. Trump is arguably a secondary reason for the loss of that seat, by backing an unsuitable candidate.

But that’s the way Trump rolls. If the candidates he picks fail, it’s their own fault. If they succeed, that’s 100% Trump’s doing, even if he spent next to nothing on their campaigns.

AZ AG Brnovich showed himself to be a nasty leftwing RINO

TRUMP CORRECTLY ENDORSED AN “AMERICA FIRST” CANDIDATE

Trump has been listing his wins and losses. So much for blaming things on
others.

On the one hand you say Trump didn’t help. Yet a lot of RINOs were replaced by better men, and Trump criss-crossed the nation making multi thousand
attendee rallies, which you try to pass off as no help at all from Trump.

You’re all over the map here, and it looks like you took wrong turn after wrong
turn and still haven’t figure out you’re way off course.

Masters is a hedge fund manager, the ultimate globalist. If he says it’s sunny out, you open the window and poke your head outside, just to be sure.

McConnell may have been one factor, but there were several things - in addition to legalized cheating by the Dems - that tanked the elections.

It wasn’t just Trump’s nutty outburst - which confused and demoralized voters at the last minute in states where the GOP had a fragile majority - or even his failure to put his money where his mouth is and actually give financial support to “his” candidates.

More than anything else, it was just a failure of RNC strategy, not only McConnell but the Trump-supported McCarthy and RNC head Ronna McDaniel (Mitch Romney’s niece).

We’ve got to be more strategic, stop worshipping individual candidates- they’re all politicians, what matters is their policies - work to get state voting laws cleaned up and the work like fiends on GOTV.

I remember years ago when I was working at GOP headquarters in my town in Florida (pre-DeSantis) and somebody called us from the black neighborhood. I happened to be the person who picked up the phone. The caller literally said he didn’t want to give me his name (but he gave me his address) and he didn’t want anybody in his family hearing him on the phone, but he asked if we could put door hangers in his neighborhood …because of course nobody in the GOP had even bothered to leaflet in the black neighborhoods.

I told him I’d see what I could do, I asked for brochures and door hangers, and I was willing to go out and do it myself, and they told me they didn’t have any. I asked if they could call state headquarters, where our material came from, so they did. State headquarters told us not to bother because blacks never voted GOP. And, weirdly enough, the head of the state GOP was black.

So we need to look at our overall party organization.

To their credit, Blacks are doing it on their own.

There has been progress. On Instagram you can run into a number of Black Conservities telling it like it is. bashing the plantation owners.
