For Donald Trump, politics and entertainment are intertwined and often synonymous. His remarkable success at both makes his latest missteps especially puzzling because Trump is committing the cardinal sin of both: He’s become boring.
The ultimate shock jock is now predictable. Wind him up and watch him throw a garbage can full of insults at anyone who won’t kiss the ring. Ho-hum.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin are getting the Trump treatment now. Both are rising Republican stars, so naturally the former president trashes and demeans them. Can’t be competition for top dog.
Long gone is the time when Trump brought fresh blood to the old and tired Republican Party. “Low energy Jeb” brilliantly ended the career of a nominee-in-waiting, and his demolition of Hillary Clinton saved America from a disaster.
Trump’s was a consequential presidency that was far better for America and its global allies than anything produced by his predecessor or his successor. His Operation Warp Speed delivered a COVID-19 vaccine in record time, America was more prosperous and the world was safer and more stable with him in the Oval Office.
Trump achieved those gains despite a corrupt FBI, a conspiratorial Deep State, a rabid media and impeachment-obsessed Dems. He deserved a second term and, had he let his America First policies do the talking, would have had one.
Even after his reckless efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, enough goodwill remained that victory in a 2024 primary and the general election remained possible. But Trump’s conduct in his post-presidency has been so erratic that a declining slice of voters hungers for his return.

“ I have a long memory of Trump, and trump is, and always has been for one thing, and that is Trump. Nothing wrong with that, and it has sometimes coincided with what is good for America. IMO, the jury is out on whether that is still the case. We’ll all see.
Have at it Trumpers. I can take it, can you?”
I have a memory of Trump going back to the early ‘80s when he was building and renovating in NYC where I and my Irish forbears are from. Some in Brooklyn knew of his nice family generations of builders. Trumps father built the supermarket chain on Long Island, serving the community
Trump went to military school for high school then to Ivy league where he had to study and work hard to make the grade.
He worked for politicians who would serve his purposes that coincided with the greater good. He never cheated (The Clinton’s if not the whole anti trump media would have told you by now if he had). Do they tell you Ted kennedy got caught cheating at Harvard? No. They say everyone does it. That’s gaslighting.
Trump left his comfortable media darling world to get him and his family raked through hot coals. His sons have been in court, facing charges- false charges- more times than you know
Trump forfeited $420k per year of president salary to charity
He loves this country. He loves his family. They love him. People love him
People want a perfect image in the White House when they get talking about Trump. No one else generates this stupid expectation. It’s something tgat comes from silliness
Run for president if you’re so non self serving.
For every voter who is pure MAGA, pro Trump, there are at least two voters who can't stand the man, who will crawl over broken glass to vote against him.
The facts have been put out there about the good job Trump did as President, but they have obviously been ignored by the Hate Trump faction.
In the face of that, shouldn't we look for an alternative with greater electibility?
I'll follow the primaries in 15 months, trying to sort out the mess that is the GOP is a fool's errand.
Whoever is funding him, we don’t know who it is.
Trump is self funded. Gets to choose
People are unaware that there’s a difference. That RDS is beholden and would be as president.
Trump smokes another one out into the open. I loathe Goodwin.
What governors did trump disparage?
“ As leader of the GOP, Trump has lost the last 3 elections.
”
Lol
Rupert Murdoch has jumped the shark. Boycott Fox News.
“ a national figure like… Trump”
Your memory of Trump isn’t that long. If it were you’d recall that the personality and brand that admittedly is Trump got into the race in the first place because he saw what the evil ones were doing to the country.
There weren’t really alternatives to the endorsements...in most cases...the voters elected them...not Trump.
“ Who is going to stand in the gap?”
Some Zelig they’re piecing together in their collective imagination
It’s easy for the lazy to be negative.
I’m so tired of these warnings not to be enthralled, or not to worship, or not to join a cult.
The ONLY people using those terms are the people critical of President Trump.
Can you show me ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE of a Trump supporter being enthralled, worshipping, or blindly following Trump into a cult?
Of course you can’t. Nobody here is “enthralled”. Nobody here worships him.
Many of us think he’s the best POTUS since RR. I’ve even heard some say he’s better than RR. Many of us think he’s our best bet for 2024 - because he is a proven fighter, a proven promise-keeper and a proven winner.
If you disagree, and want to present rational arguments - that’s great - debate is healthy.
But saying we are “enthralled”, or calling us “worshippers” or “cultists” - when you know we’re not - that just makes you sound like a lying Democrat.
“Trump has lost untold millions of supporters”
What is that amount? I use science and math in my daily work. What is untold millions?
And where is this reasearch? Can you direct us to a study?
I have some friends who are faint of heart and loudly whine when Trump is snarky and stupid. They are not millions. If they represent millions, bank on this- they’ll bot for him
All the stats I’ve seen state trump has lost no support. His rallies have huge attendance
He should have waited for the midterm results and made the announcement AFTER. Instead he jumped the gun and will look foolish if he does carry through.
“ No, the military has been destroyed through social engineering and police actions of third world shitholes.
(Not sure if you meant military, or just male citizens)”
I was in the military. Combat. Spouse too. My father and father in law. Most of our friends
The military is not a mercenary group that citizens pay to do their dirty work
Every man and woman who ever pledged allegiance to the flag and who enjoys freedom in this country has a solemn duty to protect what the flag represents
“…military, or just male citizens”
The military is tasked with operating according to orders by the commander in chief who has authority through congress- elected by the people- to defend the country.
The way I have seen it, as our elections have deteriorated, the job of the “just male citizens” has come to the fore when watching a government take over tgat will order our military to do all kinds of dangerous things. Currently obvious to anyone who can tear away from sports long enough to find out
Freedom to watch football is not a given. It is hard earned
Every ‘just male citizen’ who did not protest players disrespecting our flag by demanding a specific explanation as to what it is about our constitution tgat the anthem/ the flag represents, is so oppressive, participates in disrespecting the flag
Any and all spectators should have walked out and given the sports leagues not a penny nor the time of day
But they condoned it
That’s a gigantic issue the media does not properly discuss
It is the root of defunding Law enforcement
Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment was violated time after time by his fellow republicans who backstabbed, leaked, snickered, and outright disparaged him. He reacted differently than Donald Trump but he was still disparaged, ridiculed, and at times hated and despised by those same republicans.
The problem for me is that the data we are now being presented is hopelessly corrupted by bias that few, if any, are even attempting to control for.
And, while our current dominate candidate is Trump - I think any candidate who emerges will be pushed and likely forced to either disavow DJT and his supporters or suffer the same destructive onslaught.
Where or where is that suave, sophisticated, silver-tongued, trickster who can present as the great moderate to soothe the anxiety ridden independents, blend with the tax and spend liberals at election time, and govern adroitly as they gather and form coalitions of the timid and unwilling to curb spending, restore fundamental rights, fight off corruption and cultural disintegration, and even occasionally defend against foreign enemies.
They really didn’t count votes. They counted ballots. We need to learn how to control the ballots. We used to know, and the U.S. Code stipulates how, but nobody wants to fight the good fight.

Halleluiah! The thing that we lack the most is Patience! Most folks want God to move at their pace, not His. This is not the final result, but is the ‘next step’ of many to come. Let us keep preaching winning, not capitulation, because we cannot lose in the long run. All we can do is run out of patience.
they’ll vote for him
Not bot
