Leftists Are Trying to Get People to Leave Twitter. It’s Not Going to Work

Folks on the left are still freaking out about Elon Musk buying Twitter. Ever since he bought the social media company, they have been screaming like drunken banshees about the prospect of people they don’t like being on equal footing when it comes to disseminating ideas and opinions.

It did not take them long after Musk took over to start brainstorming ways to ensure progressive supremacy over the platform. Indeed, these people are truly desperate.

The Washington Post tried to attack the company’s advertising revenue stream. Others have used the typical race-baiting strategy to persuade users that white nationalists were going to dominate the site.

None of these tactics have worked so far. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t still trying. Now, they are trying to convince people to abandon the platform and look for other social media sites to populate.

NBC News is keeping a running tally of celebrities who have vowed to leave the platform. These include television mogul Shonda Rhimes, singer/songwriter Toni Braxton, former WWE wrestler Mick Foley, The View’s Whoopi Goldberg, model Gigi Hadid, and a slew of other elites whose opinions are utterly meaningless. Perhaps the activist media outlet thinks that these high-profile individuals leaving the platform might inspire others to do the same.

The Los Angeles Times published a piece on Friday titled “Thinking of quitting Twitter? Here’s everything you should know,” in which it attempted to explain why folks should seek greener digital pastures.

====== SNIP ======

Elon Musk @elonmusk · Follow Twitter user numbers have increased significantly around the world since the deal was announced.

And these are very early days. As Twitter becomes by far the most reliable source of truth, it will be indispensable.

Why? I signed back up with a disposable e-mail and all I see is Twitter proud about how they fact checked and dismissed all the GOP claims.

A relatively tiny percentage of users of any of the major social media platforms are politically focused.

So any clampdown or removal of a clampdown on political speech is not going to affect the vast majority of social media users. They are going to continue to talk about make-up, cars, wines, cooking, DIY, Minecraft, etc.

When the libtards see that the normies are not leaving Twitter, they will quietly slink back in order to continue grooming people toward their Marxist positions.

Meanwhile the right will get its chance to spread the good word of traditional conservatism and see if it sticks.

The model for conservatives seems to be:

1) Wait for a social media platform to become dominant
2) Get kicked off for expressing conservative views
3) Whine about this but make sure to market it as a "free speech" issue
4) Wait for libertarian-leaning billionaire to purchase social media platform, not to help conservatives, but instead to support free speech
5) Get reinstated and start proselytizing the normies

The fly in the ointment might be if major corporations are now so woke that they will defund the platform until it becomes the next MySpace, or some of the "conservatives" who are allowed back go full rightwing nutjob and force the billionaire to choose between free speech and keeping his new acquisition solvent.

I’ve thought about joining it but can’t think of a good reason to do so. I don’t know anybody on Twitter and wouldn’t know what to say.

I see no reason to have a twitter account. I’m not really fond of social media, or as I call it, antisocial media.

😂
You have a good point.
I signed up last week hoping they reinstate Trump. His Tweets always made my day.

Twitter is a shithole now and always was a shithole. Maybe that will change soon?

I think Twitter will become the most dominant social media platform. There are a lot of influencers who earn a living on social media and will get a bigger share of the pie on Twitter without the constant fear of being de-platformed and demonetized for expressing their opinions.

If nutjob liberals want to self-censor, more power to them. They do need to SHUT UP. So, good.

the algorithm still has me squelched so hard my tweets are peeps.

i’ve had 1200+ followers for years. numbers fluctuate as the algorithm drops followers frequently... making it tough to get more.

when i tweet, it rarely gets more than 50 impressions (out of 1200). pretty bad

Never had a Twitter account. Never wanted one. I’m just sitting back with my popcorn and enjoying the show.
