Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene: DeSantis should stay put as governor
The Hill ^ | 11/11/2022 | Jared Gans

Posted on 11/11/2022 9:52:34 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a close ally of former President Trump, says Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) should stay on as governor amid rumors that he could challenge Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024.

Greene did not directly mention DeSantis’s potential interest in a 2024 run in a Twitter thread on Friday but said that losing a “strong Republican governor” early because political consultants are urging them to run for president hurts the country because it leaves their states weak and vulnerable to poor leadership or Democratic control.

I know what the rules are and Crust was a mark and a scumbag, but if I were DeSantis I would have said to the moderator, “May I answer that? I want to refuse washer he is saying for the record” instead of standing there like a smirking mime. I sould have done this the second or third time Crist kept asking him. De Santis’ failure to correct the record, made him look bad whether Crist followed the rules or not. Period!

Lieutenant Commander, Recipient of the Bronze Star, Navy & USMC Commendation Medal, Attorney, Multiple term Congressman, Elected Twice as Governor of Florida. Unlike Trump, DeSantis was never a registered Democrat.

I’m a private sector guy who isn’t the least bit impressed with public sector “honors.” In fact in the last 62 years of bloated government spending, it might be a strike against you in my insignificant book.

As far as Trump being a Democrat. You don’t believe people can have a ‘road to Damascus’ event?(Reagan was a registered democrat BTW)

“Yeah, that registered Democrat Trump sure governed like a liberal wokecrat.”(Sarcasm)

DeSantis has the Trump supporters frightened. 2024 is a long ways away.

I'm not frightened at all.   I just know that if DeSantis runs for the Presidency in 2024, the Democrats win.

That would make DeSantis a pariah in 2028.

“ This all goes away if DeSantis comes out publicly and states he will not be running in 2024 if President Trump decides or announces he is running in 2024.

At least part of this is DeSantis’s fault because he won’t come clean”
*******************************************************************

Jeez… why the hell should DeSantis do that? It’s not DeSantis’ fault that Trump and some of his supporters have become deranged at the mere thought of DeSantis. And WTF has DeSantis done to deserve such derangement… govern Florida for four years as a conservative, American patriot and then win re-election in a huge landslide?

You are entitled to your opinion. Your mileage may vary.

He was the Republican nominee for US Senate. Did you support O’Dea’s DemocRAT opponent?

I believe Trump was truly a “peoples” President and loves this country but his caustic attitude and “mean tweets” turns a lot of voters off. I believe he should let DeSantis run and then DeSantis could make him Secretary of State.

What type of acid are you tripping on?   Saint Timothy said, "turn on, tune in, drop out."   It's time for you to drop out.   You couldn't "tune in" the right frequency anyway.

LOL   You left out history teacher for a year in a small elite boarding school in a rural city in North Georgia, or would you need to deduct credit for that?

I frankly am not so impressed.   President Eisenhower was a Five Star "General of The Army", and saved the world from Socialism, not a light-Colonel in the JAG office.

OK. We still are the only state that had a red wave and 100% reason is DeSantis.

Stupid for DeSantis to get in the mud with Trump. Trump’s been doing this for the last two years and I don’t know what benefit we’ve gotten from it on either election we won 16 we lost 18, 20 and 22. DeSantis is right not to get involved in petty squabbles.

I’m still in Trump’s corner, but what is it that DeSantis has done to deserve what he’s getting from Trump?

And Trump’s military service was 5 deferments. The last one being bone spurs in his feet.

DeSantis voluntarily served and was awarded a bronze star.

Exactly. I don’t know why Trump does that it doesn’t help at all. Obviously if Trump is the nominee, he has my vote, but he has no self-control whatsoever.

Did you realize that Florida is dealing with another hurricane? Do you think that maybe working on that (you know, doing his job) takes precedence over stroking Trump’s fragile ego? If Trump is so tough as you all seem to believe, why does he get his nose out of joint so easily when someone doesn’t bow and scrape sufficiently?

So Desantis won’t say if he does or does not believe the 2020 election was stolen, yet he’s allegedly running for president?

Why would he keep this a secret? Either he believes it or not? Why this game?

That’s what professional politicians do, dodge, dance and evade legitimate questions.

I’d guess he won’t be able to evade that question much longer.

Tony Fauci’s enabler, Donald Trump, is throwing a hissy fit because freedom-fighting winner DeSantis is making him look like weak by comparison.

Sad.

So if someone does not defer to Trump and agree to just hand him the nomination, he is not a patriot? Wow, talk about your cult of personality...
